"Magzie, don't go!" Chase cried out, but it was too late. Her body lay limp in his arms and her slight breathing had ceased. Now he leaned to pull the sword from her chest. It didn't matter if she bled anymore, but he wrapped her wound as well and closed her bright green eyes, stroaking the flaming hair. Out of his pocket he took a small velvet covered box, opening it to retrieve the diamond ring inside. "You said you wanted to get married," he murmered softly. "And I was ready to marry you. Might as well have the ring to go with it. Women love diamonds." Chase slid the ring onto the ring finger of her left hand. "Goodbye, babe. Goodbye, Magzie." A lone tear slithered down his cheek. He had never cried over a woman before, and it figures it would have to be her. Now that he had done his own version of last rights, he was still not ready to leave her body and cradled her in his arms. He was done with fighting. Apocolypse could kill him for all he cared, but from the looks of things, that might not happen. Now he could think about what she had said. A daughter. Some part of Magzie still alive somewhere. And he would have to find her.

Meanwhile at the Palace.
The Queen stared at the battlefield, watching the door as it appeared behind Apocalypse. Her eyes widened as the image of Apocaylpse suddenly flickered, it could only mean one thing.
That was an allusion, the real Apocalypse was somewhere else.
The Queen quickly turned to her maid and gave her Iada and told her to run and hide, taking Hannah's children, and any other children in the Palace. She had already sent the King to the battlefield, he would be safe. Soon after the Maid left, the Queen felt another presence in the room. She turned her eyes narrowed, "Apocalypse," she growled as the monster revealed himself.

Doyle watched as Famine was sucked through a portal and wonder what sins he, himself had committed in Apocalypse's name. Doyle had enough of his own sins and had been paying them in his own way. His attention turned to Apocalypse as Iris did. Doyle wanted revenge for what Apocalypse had done but Doyle realized now that it was his own fault he was in this trouble. Doyle watched Apocalypse with much hate despite the fact Doyle was now freed and whole once more. Never again would he need another life to keep his going.

Iris smiled as it seemed that the portal was working but then the image of Apocalypse flickered and she gasped. No it couldn't be, they were so close to victory. This Apocalypse was a distraction, the oldest trick in the book.
"No," Iris said and the portal was closed, so where was the real Apocalypse?
Before the Queen could fight Apocalypse had her by the thoat and held her hig above his head.
"You will serve me," he growled and the Queen felt herself changing, her memories being earsed, until someone completely different was floating in the air above Apocalypse.
"Master," she said smiling, "What is you bidding?"
"Go destroy the Rebels, make sure they suffer," Apocalypse said smiling.

X23 heard Iris gasp, saw the image flicker. In a flash she turned and ran toward the palace. She had sworn to protect the Queen, and thought that she could do that as long as she knew where the enemy was in relation to the queen. But she didn't anymore, and if he wasn't here, he could be back at the palace as likely as he could be hiding himself somewhere. Her chest heaved in and out and strong legs flew under her as she ran toward the fortified building. If he was not there, she would find Jasmine. If he was not there, then he might have hidden himself in his own fortress. Skidding to a stop at the door, she stared in at the Queen being held aloft Apocolypse himself, smiling at him. The Queen was no longer large, so her baby had been born and the smell of the child had exited the room, so possibly that child was safe.
X23 walked in slowly, carefully, so as not to cause Apocolypse to sudden movement. She did not speak, only kept staring, trying to see what she would do.
((Sorry if that is knowing too much for my character, I'm having her guess that if he isn't there, he might be attacking somewhere else, so she is going through her priorities for the people she protects.))

"Howdy X-23!" the Queen grinned surrounding herself with energy and shooting it at her.

X23 leaped out of the way of the bolt of energy and landed in a crouch, preparing to fight. What, fight the queen? She sheathed her claws again, a look of pain on her face which turned into a snarl directed at Apocolypse. "What have you done to her?" she growled.

"Just a few modifications," Apocalypse said, "Enough to ensure her loyalty to me. Destroy her Eliza."
"Of course," the Queen said and lept towards X-23 energy sparking from her body.

X23 leaped back again, still not showing her claws. She wished that she had told someone where she was going and could only hope that another would come looking for them. As of right now, she was alone and Eliza was inbetween her and Apocolypse. She could not attack the Queen. She had sworn to protect her. X23 moved into a defensive position, gritting her teeth for whatever might come next.

"Oh come on Laura, just pretend we're sparring and then I won't feel bad about killing you," the Queen said throwing a dozen punches and kicks at X-23.

X23 blocked several of the punches and kicks, but others landed on her, digging into her body. "I would prefer that you did feel bad about killing me," X23 said in a conversational tone as she backed away again. "Then that would show there still is some Eliza left in that shell! You called me Laura, so you do remember me. Don't you remember why we fought him? Don't you remember your husband and child, who you have just turned against?" X23's bloody nose stopped dripping and the bruises on her body started to heal.

The Queen laughed, "You think I ever cared about you? Or anyone else? I became Queen because of my power and it only makes sense that I ally myself with Apocalypse. He has given me more power then I could possibly want."

X23 didn't mind if the Queen didn't care about her, it was just the change of mind that worried her. "If you were so into power, you could have become a horseman in the first place, not struggle for survival with the rest of the Rebels!" X23 growled. At least the Queen was laughing and not attempting to kill her.

Raphael stood there. "I should have known..." His skin was still the colour of granite, but his age had returned. However with the gifts he had gained he could probably live quite a while longer. His expression grew cold, the war would not end. He had failed, but there might still be hope.
"I was in his prison..."

"Don't blame yourself, I doubt that any of us could have known including his Horsemen," Iris said tiredly leaning on Raphael's shoulder. Then she looked up at the Palce here eyes taking a clear, far away, look, "Oh God, he's taken the Queen, all hope is lost," she said her voice ringing across the battlefield.
"Now, now, quit arguing so I can destroy you," the Queen grinned going after X-23 again.

"A queen does not make her people, we must all make our own decisons, you stand against him as an army because you know what is right and what is wrong." Raphael said, making sure he did not include himself. He had betrayed them and then betrayed Apocolypse.
"The time will come when he will beg for mercy, beg for the sweet release of death."

"I hope you're right," Iris said blinking and losing the far away look.
"Master, we must take the surviors and flee, with the Queen on Apocalypse's side we have not the strength to defeat him," the man with the long white hair ran to Iris.

Raphael surveyed the battle scene, indeed more of Apocolypse's soldiers were making thier way here. Raphael bent down to retrive a rifle and a kinfe.
"you should listen, go, I will meet with you soon. I will not leave you again, this will only be very shortly."

"I hope you do!" X23 shouted back. "It will be know the Queen turned on her own subjects and destroyed one of her most loyal who would not raise a hand against her! I wish I could have died before you went crazy for there seems to be nothing I can do, and I do not want to see him take you, Eliza!" She yelled out the Queen's name. She was still trying to provoke some positive response, but it did not seem to be working. Anger had taken her and her eyes burned red, but she still did not raise a hand. "I would have followed the Queen to the end of the earth. You look like her, but I knew the Queen, and you are not her!" She leaped out of reach again, still circling. Her eyes scanned the room, trying to find some way to attack Apocolypse without hurting the Queen. Throwing a thought in the air, thinking as hard as she could toward the direction she knew Weaver was in, she tried to reach her with her mind. Telepaths could sometimes pick up strong thoughts from those who were not telepathic. <Weaver, he has corrupted the Queen! Is there anything we can do?> X23 danced out of Eliza's reach again, trying to get between her and Apocolypse.

<There is nothing,> Iris replied back tears streaming down her eyes at the events that were happening. She wanted to scream, cry, blow something up, hold onto Raphael's leg to keep him from fight more, "Please keep that promise, I could not bear to lose you again," she said to Raphael before turning away to hide the rest of her tears.
She looked up at one of the Time Guardians, "You make sure he get's through a portal," she said before contacting X-23 <Hold out a little longer I'm coming to get you> she sent to her friend and opened a portal.
"Here X-23, let's see if you can be deep fried," the Queen said shooting several energy blasts in X-23's direction.
"The battle is lost we must run," Iris said stepping out of the portal and grabbing X-23 and pulling her in.
