Iris nodded taking in the sights, smells, and action going on in the resturant. She had never been to something so fancy, no, more like expensive. She had spent the good portion of her life saving every penny for her house. She had never had enough money to go to resturants, let alone anyone to go with.

Raphael stood and seated Iris himself before walking around the table to seat himself. The waiter came up and asked for a drink order. Raphael just shook his head, he had given up drinking long ago, the alcohol had not done good things for him, and his deamons still chased him. He nodded his head towards Iris, "ask the lady."

"Just water please," Iris said smiling, "I find that alcohol in the smallest amounts makes my judgement a little less then pleasing. So Raphael, do tell me what you teach in this class of yours?"

"air frame structure analysis and design." Raphael said rather bluntly, as he issued the waiter away after ordering a glass of ice water. "its pretty much a class designed to test the failure point of a design."
Another man in a tuxedo issued up to the table, "Mr. Lukavelli, how nice of you to join us this evening, and your lovely friend as well." Raphael was beginning to grow annoyed with the inerruptions. He turned to the man, "quite, now if you don't mind I have some catching up to do with my friend here, so if you would be so kind as to give us some privacy until we are ready to order I would appreciate it." The man appologised and left quickly.
"sorry sometimes you are too popular for your own good"

"So basically like the faults in let's say the type of window a person uses to design the plane?" Iris asked taking a sip of her water, "Fasinating, so for the final do you have your students create their own designs and test them?"

"yes, but the window is not so much the focus of the design, like I said it is the airframe, the actual design of the plane as well as the internal structure used to support the wings and the fuselage." Raphael took a sip of water and looked out the window, it was a beautiful evening, and Rapheal had so enjoyed gazing out of windows, like looking into a portal to another world.

Iris followed his eyes and looked outside, how pretty the sunset looked. For a moment she let herself get caught up into the sunset and just not think before she blinked, "So what the percentage of how many people usually pass your class?" she asked looking away from the window to look into Raphael's eyes.

"its usually pretty good, I am a patient teacher and try to answer as many questions as I can, however sometimes the same question is asked too many times and can't quite grasp the concepts, but I still try. I get about a 65-70% pass rate. However that is not really important is it, how are you Iris?" Raphael had meant to ask the question a little more tastefully, but he had asked it. He knew he had asked a similar question earlier, but he had meant this question to be more of a personal question, not something that people used in common interaction.

"Well," Iris sighed, "To be honest, I've been training to become a wutch, I found out when I was in high school that I was to be the Keeper of the Keys of Time and Space. So between playing the harp, writing, and flying around on a broomstick, I've been really busy," Iris said a little rushed.

"fascinating concept I am sure, however you must have been burdened by the task. Time and space are an important thing to keep, and I am sure there are those out there who would wish to change a few things, make themselves gods. That is an interesting concept though, and the broom stick, it just boggles the mind, espcially one so devoted to the laws of aerodynamics as mine is. In truth though, how has that weight been borne on your shoulders" Raphael said solomnly, taking a small sip of water and placing his menue on the edge of the table signalling that a waiter might want to come by within the next several minutes to take an order.

"Not really a burden, and you know as well as I, I've never had the interest to be all powerful," Iris said thoughtfully, "It's difficult at times, because I'm called away unexpectedly to fix open doors and tears in the continuium, but mostly it's lonely work because I'm the only one that's alive to do it."

"I suppose so, but so is the work I taught you to do. Loneliness is sometimes a good thing, grants you time to think and reason, while other times it simply allows your deamons to catch up to you and torment you mercilessly." Raphael turned just as a waiter came up to the table. Raphael waited patienly as the waiter asked Iris what she would like.

"Um, well what would you suggest, Raphael?" Iris asked not knowing what half the things on the menu were, she blushed, "Sorry, it's just that I've never eaten at a resturant like this before."

"I don't blame you, I don't much care for such fancy things either. The seared tuna is well prepared as are the steaks, though I would recomend the new york strip if you like a leaner cut of meat. The pastas are very well made as are the deserts." Raphael looked keenly at the waiter, seeing if he might be able to make any other suggestions, but of course none came.

"The Tuna sounds wonderful," Iris said giving the menu to the waiter before turning back to Raphael, "My demons do not bother me any more Raphael, I've claimed peace over what I've done. I'm sad that your's still haunt you," she said actually sad for him. She had always felt pity for Raphael, he had become a trained killer, and yet he had always hidden so many things away in his mind, it made her own mind hurt just grazing the surface of it.

Raphael nodded blankly as he ordered a steak, only a 10 ounce top serloin cooked medium well. He motioned for the waiter to come closer and he whispered something, "if it bleeds more than I am it is not done properly" he raised his voice a little more to a normal tone, "cooked through just a little pink in the middle." Raphael issued the man away. He turned his attention back to Iris, folding his hands on the table.
"It is true my deamons haunt me still, but they keep me human, never let me forget my place. I may not enjoy them, but they teach me an important lesson."

Iris looked ta Raphael impressed. This was more interesting just talking to him, then when he was training her. Well when she was in training he did more yelling and hidden meaning in stories. But, his new ensites intrigued her. She couldn't say anything to confer his point but instead put a understanding hand on his and smiled a little.

Raphael raised an eye brow, it was the warm feeling again, content, or was it something more...he could not tell. He forced a weak smile, it was the best he could manage, so little in the past ten years had been enough to make him smile that he doubted he even knew how, but he tried. It was difficult for him, to be in such a situation, not that he disliked it, it was just foreign to him.
"In the end, we must reap what we sow...and I am afraid I will be forgotten..."

"Hardly," Iris said smiling foundly, before blushing and quicly taking her hand away, "I mean I wrote you into my book, so someone will remember you."

"thoughtful, but not quite what I was going for. I meant with those whose lives I have managed to touch." Raphael sighed slightly, but turned his gaze to Iris, she was quite beautiful, he had never looked at her that way, but he caught himself before it became apparent that he was staring. He took a small sip of his water. "never did figure on being a book character, mayhaps I will have to pick that one up just to see..."
