"Oh, I changed it a little though, I just wrote out things that happened in my life," Iris shrugged noticing how Raphael carried his strong shoulders, but then quickly looked at a potted plant, "I'm afraid to say it but you're portrayed as a female green orge."

"could be worse I suppose..." Raphael smirked a little, the action more natural than the forced smile. He touched his left eye, rubbing the deep scar. that shrapnel blast had nearly taken his eye, he was lucky to still be able to see out of it, but that was so many years ago now. He returned his hands to the table.
"I still have the picture" he said rather bluntly, knowing Iris would understand.

"Picture?" Iris said thinking back for a moment before blinking and remembering, "You still have it?" she asked. How long ago that had been, they had just met and everything, why in the world would Raphael keep something that she made for such a long time.

"some things ground us to reality better than others. I have never been a man for material things, though that car is quite the piece of work. I have a picture, that one we took, I can't even remember where we were anymore, or what we were doing, but I keep it, to remember, to see your face." Raphael had meant it to be an indearing moment. "sometimes I have bad days, and it is soothing to see a familiar face from a time when things were better."

Iris blushed, "Raphael," she said and stopped as the memory came back to her in full. Eliza had asked her to develop the film in her camera and given Iris permission to take the last few shoots in the film.
Well Iris had training that day so she took the comera with her and took a few pictures as they trained. She remembered the picture because it was Raphael's first try at taking a picture and she had been laughing looking relaxed as she stretched her muscles.
"Those were good time we had," Iris said growing silent.

"yes..." Raphael said, allowing the silence to fill the conversation. It was a comfortable peace, he was able to focus on memories of the past without the haunting memories. Raphael let the air around them fill with the silence, but it was something short lived for even there his deamons had found him, shocking him out of the reverie before it got bad.
"It has been too long..."

"It has," Iris agreed placing her hand on his once again, for once she felt comfortable with displaying such affection, and it reasted comfortably, "Why did you leave before our last day of training?" she asked.

"something came up, not more important, but it needed tending to. I would appologise, but you know as well as I that it wouldn't change anything. I regret leaving, it was not a wise choice, but there was little more you could have learned." Raphael looked at the soft hand on his own, it was comfortable, but it did not make what he was saying any easier.
"sometimes we simply have to do as we are asked, and it was something I could not refuse."

"That's what I thought it was," Iris said covering up the hurt that she was feeling in her chest, "I felt the next day anyway, some Orchastra in Europe wanted me to play for them and Professor practically shoved me on the plane. So in some ways it worked out for the best."

"I disagree, I had been asked to do something, terrible. It was a request I could not turn down, I owed the man my life. However I would have traded everything to have stayed there, it felt like home. Since then I have not been any place I could call home, and I am not proud of what I do these days, not like I was back then. I am glad you got to pursue your joy in music however." Raphael had an uncomfortable feeling, regret, shame. He had left, but had not been able to say why, had not been able to say good bye. Raphael had not been proud of that, and was even less pleased with the task he had been required to do.
"I...missed you..."

((Awwwww))
"Raphael," Iris said looking surpised and then let her fingers twist into his. Suddenly all the feeling she had felt the day she had waited for him at the park. She had waited three hours, it had begun to rain, finally she had left, angry, sad, and confused. Then that very day she had gotten an acceptance letter for the Orchestra, and in a moment of fury she left for Europe for the next three years. She had went to college, graduated and by the time she had gotten back to the states she had forgotten all the feeling she had wanted to tell Raphael on their last meeting, that she had loved him, "I, I missed you also," she said.

"There is no excuse for what I did." Raphael bowed his head. "All I can do is ask for your forgiveness and make it up to you." Raphael looked back up into Iris' eyes, deep and reflective, Raphael could have gotten lost in them, and in truth he probably wanted to. He felt at ease around Iris, she had been the only one who had ever stayed his hand, and that was something special. Raphael respected and cared for Iris, he felt like life was worth living when she was around. Could it be that he had finally caught his white unicorn? Had he again finally found joy, maybe he did, or maybe it was something different. What ever it was, Raphael did not want to lose it again.

"Raphael, I forgave you a long time ago," Iris said looking back into his dark eyes. They looked so serious, and yet for the first time, Iris saw a softer look in them, something she only saw once or twice since she knew him, "You know me," she chuckled a little, "I never could stay mad for very long."

Raphael's features sotfened, his expression softer, more human. Raphael had been cold to the world most his life, but finally he could be human, and not be a monster. He felt at ease, like a weight had been lifted up off of his shoulders.
"I..." Raphael paused, he couldn't quite find the words for what he wanted to say, it was something new to him, something he didn't want to end.

Iris watched curiously as Raphael's feature's softened and for the first time she could see the younger man in him. The one before he became Pravus. Iris felt her heart in her throat as Raphael looked in her in such a way that no one had before.
Iris gently squeezed Raphael's hand and smiled in understanding.

Raphael was still having difficulty finding the words, but Iris' understanding look eased him a little.
"you brought joy back to me..."

Iris blushed and looked down and then looked back into Raphael's eyes, her insides felt like they melted a little. What was it about him that drew her to him? Perhaps that they were two old souls trying to swim with the younger ones. Or that she had been able to find the human in him before anyone else? She didn't know but she found herself enjoying his company more and more.
"Your joy is my joy," she said quietly taking his other hand.

Raphael just smiled, his heart finally warmed, he was human again. He was whole. Raphael loved this woman, and did not ever again want to live without her. Raphael simply held Iris' hands and enjoyed the moment.

So this was how it was going to be for her. Quiet shy Iris, falling in love with a man that no one could. Somehow it didn't seem that strange to her. She always believed that there was some reason people acted the way they did, why things happened for a reason. This, she hoped, was planned from the very begining, it was like some love story. The teacher leaves the student they meet years later and fall in love.
In Iris's mind it was perfect, that is until she felt a nagging feeling in the back of her mind, "Raphael, where's the waiter, in fact why is it so quite?" she asked her eyes puzzled as she looked around.

Raphael too noticed the change, the silence. "I know not, but something feels wrong." Raphael looked at Iris, an expression of concern on his face.
