Amelia couldn't help but laugh herself at his thoughts, "Though I enjoy listening to your thoughts Christian, I must really teach you to block telepathic probing, no doubt my father has been listening to you since day one," she said.

"Iada," Jazz whispered through her frozen lips. "Can you get us out of here? Please?" Fear had paralized her beyond normal, to see one of her greatest fears materialize before her.
Damaras had remained silent during the little exchange with the local ghost. Another sadist, did Apocolypse hunt for them just to put them into positions of power? Then Iris came in. Iris, the one whom the ghost said lived in her own private hell. Was there more to the harsh slavemaster than the outer shell? Try as she might, Darmaras could not imagine Iris anything but the person she appeared to be.
Her whole body tensed at what looked like a confrontation between the remaining free mutants and one of the slavemasters. She wished that she had her telepathy back so she wouldn't feel so alone even around all the other people. Despite Darmaras's intentions, her powers had grown to become a great part of her and she was used to flowing through people's minds. Now, she was trapped.

Iada shook her head and shrunk against the nearby wall and covered her head with her hands. She had battled before with Iris when she was very young, left for dead if Iris hadn't taken pity on her and walked away. Sweat trickled down Iada's face as she closed her eyes throwing up all of her telepathic defenses.
"I thought I sensed something out of the ordinary," Iris said her eyes glowing faintly in the dim light, "Now I see that there's a teleporter in the rebel's forces," Iris's eyes looked around locking on Jasmine's face, "And another rebel's child, Laura was your mother's name I believe. She was a great ally at one time."

((What the heck? Hannah? Jasmine is the child of X23 and Negate, or at least just X23.))

X-T saw someone heading her way. She put the binochulars up to her face again. She squented, trying to see who it was.
"Is that... Pravus?" X-T questioned herself, trying to get a better look. She stepped a couple steps backwards, just in case it was a phoney.

Mazarus had paid little mind to the words the ghost woman had spoken, but the part about fear, did he know was fear was, was he afraid. Mazarus had never known the difference, he had always lived in this state, he didn't know what to call it. However as the one woman dissappeared and another came through the door way, Mazarus dropped his knife, his jaw hanging open. "mom..." was all that he could manage. It had been ages since he had last seen her. Mazarus could not understand.
Far away Raphael watched the glint on the binoculars rise again, but disappear suddenly. He shrugged his shoulders. Still Raphael managed to pick his way through the rubble strewn area towards the location getting closer and closer. He walked smoothly, with his hands visible. And as he neared he thought he saw x-t, he could have been mistaken, but he could almost swear it was her.

Jasmine's glowing white eyes narrowed and he body started to thaw. In seconds, she had burst into a living flame. "Laura was her name, thank you for remembering that the skeleton with claws in the main hall actually had one!" Jazz moved nearer, light dancing into the corners and heat swelling out. Through the personal inferno could be seen those two white glowing eyes. "Which one of you killed her?" she demanded, the fear being snuffed out by the overwhealming anger. Then she heard Maz's soft "mom..." The flames started to die, and she clutched the fallen clothes to her so that she was covered when her form was human again. "Oh Maz..." she said softly, watching him.

Mazarus dropped to one knee.
"why, first aribeth...then you..." Mazarus was dumb founded, he didn't know what to think. His entire family had fallen apart. His sister had been captured, he hadn't even seen his mother fall to the other side. His father had gone sublty more and more insane since. Raphael couldn't stand to watch apocolypse touch his daughter as his own. Mazarus had been heart broken, he sister was pretty well dead to him now, and Raphael had cut himself off to all emotion and pretty much the outside world.
"Why" Mazarus repeated.

Iris looked at Iada who was in the corner whimpering, she was a strong girl, she would be very powerful one day in the future.
"I had no part in her killing, nor the rounding up of my former friends," Iris said darkly looking into Hannah's eyes with her own powerful ones, "If it was my choice your mother would have lived."
Then her eyes settled on Mazarus when she heard the knife clatter to the floor. She looked into his eyes and resisted the urge to run and hug him, to tell him that everything was okay. But she stopped herself and looked Mazarus up and down, "You look like your father," she said, "I have taken a vow that I may never speak of why I came to be in Apocalypse's powers, so that is a mystery to everyone but two people. But my reasons are my own."

"It killed him, the day he heard." Mazarus said solomnly. He had managed to slip his hand over the knife again, discretly as his father had taught him, to be lucid of mind and body so his actions could not be read. Mazarus had been taught to mask his thoughts with others, less important thoughts, and to make the actions into instinct and reactions, that way if they could be read, it would already be too late. He was still kneeling on the ground.
"why?"

Iris shook her head, "I cannot say, though I wish I could to make you understand, perhaps love has something to do with it," Iris said tapping her staff on the ground and looking at Mazarus up and down, amazed on how much he had grown.
Iada suddenly blinked and realized how silly she was being cowering in the corner, now that Iris's attention had been shattered bu Mazarus. Without think she ported over to Jasmine, grabbed her hand and ported again and grabbed Mazarus' hand and then ported away to the outskirts of the city.
Trembling from fear and exaustion Iada stared at the sky.

Mazarus was still on his knees after the scene had changed. He was just shaking his head and mumbling very softly something about how could she betray them. Mazarus didn't know what to do or think, he had been struck stupid. Should he tell his father, should he keep it a secret. Mazarus was utterly lost, his entire world had been turned upside down.

"Yeah, I've never been one for thinking before acting," He smiled.
He finished his food, and waited by quietly for his 'date' to catch up, "How's your meal?"

"Tasty as our conversation," Amelia said patting her lips with the napkin and getting up from the table, "I believe we should begin our walk."
Iris watched half knowing as Iada ported herself and the other two out of the cell. She sighed and exited the cell and ordered the guards to give extra rations to the prisioners before she returned to her room.
Feeling emotionally exausted Iris collasped into bed, and almost instantly she began to dream.
"Maz?" Iada said not even asking if he was alright, knowing that he wasn't. She placed her blue hand on his shoulder before throwing caution into the wind and throwing her arms around him, "Don't worry we'll get her back, and everyone else."

Midnight slid out of the wall, a smile of twisted delight on her face. "And the plot thickens," she murmered. Iris's hell had grown hotter and the boy was entering his own. Definately entertaining to let them go. Then her body simply dissapated and she was gone.

Jasmine gave a small sigh. She hurt for her two friends and even though she was the youngest, she didn't feel like her anger at her mother's death amounted to much compared to what these two had seemed to have gone through. "Was she the one who killed my mother?" Jasmine asked in a emotionless voice, green eyes fixed on the ground. She did not want to see their pain.

"No, luckily not, Iris never took part in the killing of the rebels," Iada said darkly, "I think Apocalypse took care of her himself."
