There used to be a time when humans and mutants could coexist, with the humans not knowing that any person they were walking by could be a mutant. Of course, that had all changed in thirteen years. Humans were rare, mutants were the ruling race, and Apocalypse was the ruler of the mutants, controlling everything and everyone with an iron fist. The mutants that resisted were either killed or enslaved with collars. Predictably, some of the mutants decided it was in their best interest to join up with Apocalypse. A now twenty-seven year old Hannah Calder was one of those mutants that refused to do anything with Apocalypse. The result had been that she was beaten unconscious and when she woke up, she had a collar around her neck and was lying in a dungeon cell. That had been almost five years ago. Currently, the lithe, toned woman was piling smooth, white marble stones onto a cart. It was one of the ridiculous projects they were forced to work on. They were building a statue of one of their slavers at the present. A couple dozen of assorted Slavers were watching them work. She muttered darkly under her breath as she tossed another couple of blocks onto the cart.

Iris, now know as Overmaster watched as the slaves worked, "They are working well my lord," she told Apocalypse as she stood beside him, "As long as we rest and feed them properly they will live long enough to build you city," she said and Apocalypse nodded to her advice.
Iris had once fought against Apocalypse, and nearly won. But Apocalypse had thrown her weakness in front of her eyes and now she was on his side.
"Ah cheer up Hannah, here they're givin us gruel again for lunch, that exciting," Eliza grinned to her friend wincing as a whip lashed across her back, "Yeah yeah, work anh no talkin, same ole, same ole."

"Oh, yeah, gruel's my favorite." Hannah said sarcastically, letting out a low hiss of anger when a Slaver came too close for comfort. Nearby, her younger sister, Willow, was busy talking to one of her allies. Hannah stopped working for one second too long and was rewarded with a stinging lash across the back. Hypno sneered at her as he walked by, whip in hand.

"Alright you, start lifting the stones," one of the slavers said to Eliza and waved a crystaled palm across her collar. That's how they were control, slavers hand crystals implanted in their palms that controled the collars giving certian mutants enough power to build the city.
"Yeha," Eliza rolled her eyes and surrounded one stone with energy and lifted it into it's place.

Emerald ended up besides hannah and smiled the best she could. She slowed down a bit causing her to feel a quick lash across her back from no other person that Sapphire.
"Stay up little sister or I might have you work over time." She smiled devilishly, her dingo tail lashing back and forth.
Emerald felt a growl escape her throat but kept working. "I cant believe its possible that I hate her more than usual." She mumbled.

Hannah made an obscene hand gesture at Hypno's back, earning another lash of the whip. "Alright already, I'm working." She growled, turning to lift the blocks of marble with ease.

Ruby noticed her big sisters angst and touched her back soothingly. "Calm is the key to living." She stated fox ears flattening.
"I know." Emerald snarled, before getting whipped by sapphire once again.
Ruby sighed picking up a boulder and placing it on the cart. "Dont get her angry." She said
"I may be pissed but I aint stupid." Emerald snarled lifting up a few blocks and putting them on the cart.

Hannah saw Sapphire and decided to divert her attention. "Yo, Sapphire! Rumor has it that you're about as strong as butterfly! Is it true?" She yelled, knowing that it was not a smart move. Willow gaped at her sister in amazement, stunned at her recklessness. She smacked her forehead with her hand, before being forced back to work.

Raphael and Mazarus were in the shadows between two building, looking on as slave, people they had once called friends were being forced to build rediculous monuments. There were two things wrong with the picture in Raphael's mind, and the greater of the two was the savage expenditure on such trivial things as art and sculpture. The later was the fact that all his friends and Iris were on the wrong side. Raphael wanted very much to storm out into the open and give Apocolypse what he had comming. Apocolypse had grown brazen, actually appearing in public, not that there was much anyone could do, he controlled nearly the entire population of the planet. Raphael was about to srping forewards, when his son Mazarus put a hand on his shoulder. "this is only and observation mission, the time for attack will come." Mazarus was the logical part of Raphael now, kept Raphael from acting irrationally and had probably saved Raphael's life more than once. Raphael resigned to sit and watch patiently. He and his son, with the aide of some technology and practice had learned to blank thier minds so that many of the telepaths that worked for Apocolypse would not find them. Raphael gritted his teeth.
"what is it father." Mazarus asked in a hushed tone. "your mother..." Raphael replied flatly.

Sapphire felt her pure black eyes dart over to Hannah. Her hand slowly turned into a large claw that could cut through fleash easilly. "Now what did you just say?"

"Restrain yourself Sapphire, or will I have to do it myself?" Iris said flying down to the slaves and blocking Sapphire's path, "I've warned you enough about keeping your feeling for your sisters to yourself, now go on and leave them," she finished growling a little. Suddenly Iris's eyes widened and she looked around, for a moment she had felt a familier mind, but now it was gone. Iris stook her head and glared at Sapphire.
Then she felt it again, "Raphael, I know your out there, and whatever your planning I suggest you stop it," she sent telepathically to him gritting her teeth.

Raphael ignored the telepathic mesaging. He watched as a fight nearly broke out. Pitty it was put down so quickly, He and Mazarus might have been able to get a few mutants out. Mazarus bent down low, looking across the court yard. And this time Raphael had to steady his son form making a rash decision.
"come my son, there is more to see." Raphael slunk back into the shadows. He and his son snuck around the back of another building and circled back through another alley way towards the main alley way again where the slaves were draggin more stone. They were closer to Apocolypse now and on a better day Raphael would have taken his chances and struck at the terrible deamon.

Jasmine's green eyes watched Maz and Raphael. She hated being the lookout for them as she was scared stiff of being found. But if they thought she could take care of herself... Her whole body was now a block of girl-shaped ice, one of her new found powers that came from being scared out of her wits. She still could not control her powers much if at all, her emotions doing most of the work.
Softly she stroked the knife on her belt to comfort herself. It was a beautifully-made blade with an eagle hilt, a gift from her mother. Her mother, whose adimentium skeleton was on display one of Apocolypse's many palaces. Knowing nothing about her father, Jazz had been taken care of by Raphael, who it seemed had a strange fondness for her mother. Raphael had taught her the art of fighting, which was why he trusted her to stand up here. He was also expecting her to learn her power so that she could eventually protect herself using that to some extent, but he did not seem to understand mutant powers much.
Yes, Jasmine was a mutant. Both her parents had been mutants, although now her mother was dead and she knew nothing about her father, although she assumed she had one at one point. But now Raphael took care of her and she was growing up side-by-side with Mazarus, who was like an older brother. She felt a little out of place around them, as they seemed to always be in control of their emotions, but hers could be very extreme, causing her to burst to flame and change to metal or freeze into ice like she was doing.
"Guard at 12:00," she said into her radio, knowing it would sound into the ears of Raphael and Mazarus silently to the outside world.
((Hope you don't mind, Raphael))

A quieted 'Bamf," and Iada appeared on Jazz's iced shoulders with a grin, "Oy darling, the guards change every hour between thrity after and forty after," she said arching her blue eyebrows. Iada was the daughter of the strange couple of Eliza and Kurt Wagner, she had been rescued by one of the free people by her mother passing her through the bars on a window to the Free person below. Now she worked for the Free People, using her powers to moniter attacks, and used her tech skills to create new weapons against Apocalypse.

Jasmine would have jumped if she hadn't frozen herself to the ground. "Iada, don't do that!" she hissed loudly, then slowly attempted to thaw herself. Her joints crackled and slowly turned to the soft pale skin of a, although not quite normal, girl. "I wasn't telling him when the guard, I was telling him where the guard," she explained, although that didn't seem to make much sense. "12:00 as in coming right in front of them." Jazz lay back down to watch Raphael and Mazarus running about again. She could feel her toes starting to freeze again. "We are too close to Apocolypse to be goofing around yah know."

Iada snorted and teleported again to the ground in a crouched position, "Pshaw, Apocalypse would pee himself if he saw us running around here," she said gazing down at slaves and seeing her own mother and father and frowning, "Anyhoo, tell Raphie what I just said he's been dying to know," she said stretching out her blue arms and running her hand through her bushy brown hair.

Jazz rolled her eyes, but pressed the 'Talk' button on the radio. It was interesting that Apocolypse and his cohorts thought more about monitering thoughts than radio signals. "Raphael, the guards change every hour between 30 minutes and 40 minutes," she reported into it. "If Apocolypse saw us, we'd be down there building national monuments," Jasmine snorted once she had depressed the button. She didn't say anything about Iada's mother being down there in plain sight, throwing around blocks of marble. Sighing heavily, she pushed the white streak in her dark brown hair back out of her face.

"Ooh and tell Marazus I think he's hot!" she said before looking at her mother and sighing, "They say that she was one of the strongest mutants to oppose Apocalypse, now look at her, okay she just whacked a guard with the marble, but do you think we even have a chance against him?"

"No, we don't have a chance, but weren't you just saying that he would pee himself?" Jazz smiled, her eyebrow arched. Iada was one of the few people who could make her smile. Raphael and Mazarus were too serious for their own good. "And I am not telling Mazarus that you think he is hot. You know how big a lecture I got on the 'importance of keeping focused' last time I delivered one of your messages? Tell Maz when he gets back." Jazz shoved the radio under her so that Iada couldn't reach it to deliver the message herself. "Don't you have better things to be doing?"

"Oh Raphie no sense of humor, you know I slipped an old Penthouse magazine into his hand while he was reading, and not a chuckle from him. He's boredom city. Now Mazarus on the other hand, when he goes all serious he's so hot..." Iada said going dreamy eyed before Jazz asked her if she had other things to do, "Well lets see, I've already tracked the guards, delivered the messages to you, I've already got dinner in the oven," Iada said counting off on her fingers, "I have some extra time, I guess I could go and put an old lady hat on Apocalypse's head."
