The Age of Apocalypse

[Christian]

He raised his lip in contempt, "Never f*cking better."

He turned away, and laid down.

Kevin bent up to the hole, and whispered so light it was barely audible, "Sorry..."

[Health]

"It's not you fault," Ellen sighed, "It's just we're like magnets one minute we can't get enough of each other and then the next we want to rip each others throats open. It's how our relationship has always been."

[Christian]

Cole sat for a minute, full of anger for the things in his and Ellens past.

Finally he rolled over, "I'm sorry Ellen. It's been a while, and things are less then spectacular around here."

"Frenzy tell you the happening news," he asked, trying to lighten the mood.

[Health]

"It's alright, I'm too sad and tired to hold a grudge anymore," Ellen said smiling weakly, "Yeah he told me, but I'm not getting my hopes up."

[Christian]

"I agree with you for once," he grinned, "I don't have much love for Ravage's tyrant-loving ass, and couple him with Apocalypse's daughter, it's twice as much reason not to believe the hype."

[Health]

"Not to mention with Iris gone now, there's no one to keep the guards from doing their worst," Ellen added.

[Christian]

"Amen to that," he sighed and took a breath, "Mind if I come over and hang out for a while?"

[Health]

"Yeah I'm the sure guards will do that," Ellen said rolling her eyes, "I can see it all now, you'll be, "Hey man can I go hang with my girl?" and the guards will be like, "Yeah go ahead we like to make sure the moral of our SLAVES, is high. And while we're at it your collar looks a little tight why don't I take that off for you?"

[Christian]

Cole laughed, as Kevin kept staying out of the conversation. "You think they'd mind? Really?"

He moved up close to the hole, putting his nose through it, trying to be cute, "And I really like it when you call yourself, 'my girl'."

[Health]

Ellen poked his nose, "You always did when we weren't fighting," she said sweetly, "But not so much when I sang it."

[Christian]

"You know," he said coyly, "I sure do miss those days. Made it a lot better to get through the day."

He pulled his nose from the hole, and rubbed it where Ellen poked him, "I might start calling you 'my girl' again. Just for the hell of it."

[Health]

Ellen blushed, "Stop you making me miss the old days," she said wispfully.

[Christian]

"As long as the memories are better than the ones you're gathering in these trying times, I'd consider that a godsend!"

[Health]

"Always the charmer," Ellen chuckled before starting to cough, "Damn cough had it since they took away our powers," she muttered.

[Christian]

Cole shed his sarcasm for a moment and shoved his eye up against the hole to look, "You okay? Is it something I should worry about?"

[Health]

"Nah, don't worry yourself it's nothing," Ellen said a little weakly resting her forehead on the cool wall.

[Christian]

He paused a second, "Don't worry," he lied, trying to make her feel better, "Christian will get us outta here. Then you'll be okay."

[Health]

"Tell you what if we do get out of here, I'll marry you and make sure you have a honeymoon you won't forget," Ellen said not really meaning it. Her hopes of escape and freedom were long since dead. But she wanted to humor Cole.

[Christian]

He laughed, "You lie about as well as I do, but you know I'm not gonna let that one fall on deaf ears. I accept your challenge!"

He stuck his finger through the hole, and waved it up and down, "Get some sleep, kay? You sound like you could use the rest."

[Health]

Ellen smiled, "Nah, I'm about to start my shift, no rest for the weary I guess," she said taking her own finger and wrapping it around Cole's before getting up and marching out of the cell with the other slaves.
