The lithe boy moved forward, kneeling infront of the princess and placing the bowl at her feet. Slowly, he began to wash them with the cool water.

"Thank you Layla," Moswen said bowing to the guard before entering the throne room and bowing to the Pharaoh, "My Lord, the Summer Feast is being prepared, and all the rituals are going according to the Rights of Summer," she said standing up straight, "But I have grave news that our temple has looked into the water and seen the moon tonight is dark. Some evil will visit us this night."

Sef raised his head to make eye contact with Sabah even if she was blind. Off duty was something Sef barely knew. Having been raised as a Sandraider survival was the highest goal and only the strong and tested deserved the honour. Sef grew up in a very hostile environment but being a slave before hand had been much worse in his mind.
"I shall wait to enjoy such things after the brave new world." Sef replied make a vague reference to events to come. If anyone was listening in they would have no idea what he was referring to at all. Sef was one to always be cautious as he was taught so.
"I am to watch over you this day but I shall deliver you message to a rider that is waiting near by. Your message will be delivered in post haste." Sef said bowing his head again even if she could not see it. Other nobles and high born tended to frown upon servants and slaves who did not obey the laws set out for them.
Sef then rose to his full height once more and took a step backwards away from Sabah but still faced her. He let his sword on rest on the hilt of his sword. He towering giant turn to leave taking in his surroundings before speaking over shoulder remembering to add something.
"I shall be returning shortly." Sef added before walking out into the court yard once more on his way to the city gate.

Sabah nodded her face still facing the sunlight. She still had memories of when she could see, back before her first vision before she had been taken from her parents and made to serve the Pharaoh. It was a small memory of her parents and her gathering water from the nearby river. She had a small bowl to take water up to her own flower garden. They were a little more then weeds, but Sabah enjoyed looking at the flower's bright colors. But then with her vision came her loss of regualr sight. True she could use her Seer ability to walk through the palace. But it still didn't make up for actually seeing colors.
She almost pitied people who pitied her. The main reason they always ignored the beauty of the world around them, and Sabah was unable to see them herself. But maybe the High Lord would help her see like he promised. She could only hope.

Sef left and headed to the messenger to deliver what Sabah had commanded him to do. Sef had pride but it was of a sort the could not be used against him. Again strength due to a harsh life.
Though Sef did not see the beauty of the world that Sabah talked about he did find serenity in it. The purity of nature and a respect for living creatures were more appealing to Sef. Though he was a warrior of skills almost unheard in ability and so far only rivaled by one other he was not just some cold hearted killer. Sef he have a moral code he lived by and he did find place for honour in his life even if it was a weakness.
[Roughly 15 minutes later]
Sef returned the same as he entered the first time. He quickly sought out Sabah to inform her, that her message was on it's way.

"Thank you Sef," Sabah said and smiled at him before letting the sun hit her face again. She then turned her face in Sef's direction, "You know what's funny, any slave would kill from my life. Living in almost royal comfort, only having to work when called. But you know what, I could see I'd become a warrior like you Sef, maybe fight in our army or something. I hate the feeling of being defenseless for being blind," she said fiercely a fire in her eyes, "I just which that could weild a weapon like you and defend myself. It's silly I know, but it's just something I wish I could do."

"It is not a silly desire to wish to protect yourself. The strong do pray on the weak in this world." Sef said raising his bowed head now that he had been acknowledged.
Sef continued on "But as to wishes. They are just dreams to those who are not driven or wanting enough to make them come to pass. You are very smart and wise, Seer. Those tools are far more dangerous then even the sharpest blade but if you wish to learn to fight, there is all about you the means to if you true desire it." Serf said staying on knee for the time being.
"I would not wish the life of a warrior upon you. If is one unfitting of a woman or sage such as yourself. Leave battles to men like me, with our pride, honour and those even more foolish, glory."

Sabah smiled down at Sef, "You are a strange one warrior. So I suppose that you are the muscle and I am the brains of his right and left hands," she said thoughtfully, "But no matter with these eyes I could never become a warrior, only the Seer with the powers the Gods have given me," she said and faced the sunlight again soaking up its rays.
"I look up to your courage and will to fight Sef," Sabah spoke up, "I thought you should know."

Sef listened closely to everything she said and did not speak once until she was done. Though blind she was not weak nor useless. She made herself useful by helping her people with knowledge and wisdom. Both of which if used correctly are far better then any weapon. There is a greater strength in numbers but more so in community.
"When committed to a course, I move into action to see it through. That is not courage or maybe it is of a lesser sort. As for will my lady I should tell you, I do not believe myself to be some cold hearted killer. If possible or even feasible I would find others ways first. Fighting tends to be far to permanent and fatal.

Sifiye nodded slightly, looking up at the princess with his soft, cool brown eyes. "I have been well." He replied, bowing his head again and returning to his work.

Layla bowed to Sabah and left the throne room. Layla walked past some of the servent that where hurrying about to prepare for the feast that night. Layla stopped at the Princess' door and knocked.
"My lady your father wishes to have audience with you," Layla said through the door.

"good to know you have been well," Mandisa said to Sifiye and heard the knock at the door and Layla's request. "One moment!" She called. Mandisa looked at Sifiye and patted his head, "would you like to come with me for a bit?"

"If my lady wishes..." The boy replied softly, his intense brown eyes gazing up at her as she patted his head. What was with people and his head today? First the Seer, now the Princess. Why was it that the important people liked to touch his head? A smile snuck through his stoney disposition as he stood, but it dissappeared quickly.

"Technicly it wasn't an order, just a request," Mandisa said noticing the smile, but she didn't mention it to him, "you come at your own free will." She opened the door and stepped out, nodding to Layla.
Layla bowed to Mandisa, muttering, "my lady."

The boy, after a moment of hesitation, followed Mandisa. For a moment, he remembered Sabah's request for him to hide himself, but he brushed that away. His job was to serve the princess and that is what he would do. So, he followed her silently, his brown eyes watching Layla warily.

"Mi'Lady," Moswen said as she finished speaking and nodded to the Princess, "Perhaps you can tell your father to take my advice and have more guards on duty to protect him this night," Moswen said sourly.
"Come, Come Priestess, my own Seer has seen nothing, and I trust her more then my daughter," The Pharaoh said waving Moswen away with his hand, "Tonight is to be a grand celebration don't ruin it like you always do with your dark predictions."
"It's obvious you not some cold-hearted killed, you speaking to a blind woman as an equal," Sabah said and got up from the window and headed towards the throne room, "Come now I have to assure the Pharaoh that nothing bad is being seen this night."

"Father, I do believe Moswen is right," Mandisa pleaded, "please, just a little extra guard. It's better to be safe than sorry."
"Your daughter is right sir," Layla added stepping next to Mandisa, "please, if not for your sake, than for the sake of the Princess."
