Scott rushed Hannah into the room where Jean, Restore and Beast were waiting. Scott gently laid her down and backed away, allowing them to do their jobs. Jean began hooking Hannah up to an IV as Hank restrained her. Restore moved to her head and began healing her wound.
"She should be okay, just a nasty headache when she wakes up. I'll go inform her Willow." Jean thanked him as he headed out the door.
"Jean will you turn on the heart monitor. I have hooked her up," Hank asked. Jean nodded and flipped a switch and typed in a few numbers. "Now we wait for her to wake up and see who she is. If she's truly Hannah, which you'll be able to sense Jean, then we can remove the restraints for her comfort." Hank left the room and Jean stood next to Scott.
"How are you doing?" Scott asked.
"I took some pain pills so I'm not as sore, but it's going to take some time. Scott thank you for finding her. You can go home if you want. I'll stay here and watch her." Scott shook his head and put his arm around Jean to let her know he would be waiting with her.

'Ahh! Bright, bright light. Light bad.' She thought groggily, screwing up her face as she attempted to shield herself from the light above her. Hannah mumbled something unintelligible as she opened her eyes slightly, squinting. She moved to cover her eyes....or at least tried to. She couldn't move. Green eyes opened all the way as she looked down at the restraints, confused. "What-?" Her gaze shifted to Scott and then to Jean. Hannah's brow furrowed in confusion.

Jean watched as Hannah began to wake up and sighed in relief. She was going to be just fine, everything was going to work out fine. "Hannah those are just a precaution for us. Until we know that you're really you." Jean wanted to trust her, but she couldn't help feeling uneasy around the girl. She had after all almost killed her.

'Precaution?' Hannah's mind was a jumble of flashes and random images. Utter confusion flooded over her. "Precaution? What are you talking about? I'm fine." She said slowly, a frown slipping over her otherwise pretty features. Glancing down again she froze, seeing something red and very familiar. "What the-where'd this blood come from?"

"Hannah I found you passes out in the park having killed three people. I got you out of there as quickly as I could." Scott felt sorry for the girl. He had felt the same way a couple of time and it was hard on a person, hard on morale. "I don't think anyone saw. I'm sorry."
"Do you not remember any of it? Alkali Lake? Anything?" Jean asked as she removed the restraints.

"That's impossible. I can't have killed people. I'd never kill anyone." Hannah looked from Jean to Scott and back, her bewildered smile fading. The last she could remember, she was talking with Amara and her sister. "What are you talking about? I can't have killed anyone because I was with...I was with....Willow...and-and Amara..." Her confidence fell as she struggled to remember.

Jean looked back at Scott, who shrugged. "I can help you remember, if you want to Hannah. But think hard about this. You may not want to remember what happened." Jean said softly, looking down at the girl. Maybe this memory loss was a good thing.

Hannah was still in crestfallen denial. "But, you don't understand. There's nothing for me to remember. I didn't kill anyone!" She said insistantly, her tone was bordering on hysteria. But, of course, her belief in that was waning. It just all felt like a nightmare.

Jean raised her hands to Hannah's head and closed her eyes. "Jean, maybe you shouldn't..." Scott said as she began to concentrate. She began to dig around Hannah's mind, trying to force the memories to the front.

Hannah's protests died away as she remembered what had happened. Oh, my, god. She stared at Jean in acute horror, finally passing into hysterical. Now she wished she had just told Jean not to dig up and straighten the memories. "Why-what?"

"None of us are quite sure as to why Hannah. We were hoping you could tell us. The only thing I know is that you were angry and then you attacked. The rest is unknown," Jean told Hannah as she pulled back and looked at Hannah in the eyes.

"I-I don't remember really attacking. I thought it was some kind of dream, because I couldn't control it." Another flicker of some unreadable emotion flickered over her face. Hannah looked bck up at Jean from where she sat. "Shouldn't....I tell someone? The police?"

Jean looked over to Scott and he nodded. "I called the police and told them about the three bodies, Hannah. I just left you out of it. We want to protect you Hannah and we can't do that if you're sitting in jail. The X-Men need you. Your sister and daughters need you here, not in some jail cell." Mutants also didn't need the bad publicity at the moment. Not with the attack on the Worthington Labs.

They wouldn't have been able to idenify her anyway. All they would find would be the jagged gashes caused by a large cat. Hannah looked completely depressed and unnerved. She had a strong, fleeting suicidal impulse. But, of course, she could never act on it. Her kids needed her. Hannah shifted her guilt-stricken gaze to Jean, trying to figure out what to do.

"Don't worry Hannah. Wounds heal and emotional wounds, while a lot slower, they heal as well. No one but Willow, Beast, and the two of us know exactly what happened. Restore just healed you, but he has no clue what happened. We'll protect you at all cost. You are one of us, family. Nothing changes that," Jean told her.

Hannah let out a sudden, almost hysterical, laugh. It was dry, containing no humor whatsoever. "How can you say that? I almost killed you! I killed three defenseless people!" She felt rather, numb, for lack of a better word. The "cure" the humans had invented had seemed barbaric, but now...

"You, yourself said that you thought it was a dream because you weren't in control. Hannah family doesn't mean if someone makes a mistake you leave them behind. You stick through it with them, no matter what has happened. And almost is the word of choice right now. You didn't kill me and what did happen can heal." Jean told her.

What Jean said was entirely logical, but Hannah was feeling very happy about logic at the moment. She forced every thought she wanted to voice down and swallowed, trying to even out her breathing. "How are the girls?" She asked, her voice cracking slightly.

"They're fine, miss their mother, but they're doing just fine. You can go and see them whenever you feel up to it. We aren't keeping you locked up. You can rest down here as much as you need to. If you want to head up to see your daughters then Scott will help you. It's all up to you, Hannah." Jean hoped she went to go she her daughters. It would be good for her right now.

"Yeah..." There was a sudden pain in her stomach as she looked down at the blood covering her. Her victims' blood. In what seemed to be a panicked flight, she shot over to the infirmary bathroom, sank to her knees in front of the toilet, and vomited.
