"And upon furthur news Worthington Labs has announced that they have found a cure of the X gene. For those who don't know the X gene is the gene that determines if a person become a mutant or not. There's no announcement on how many alreayd mutants they can treat, but rumor is, is that they're taking who show up at the lab and giving them the cure. Now back to you bob."

A blink. A small choke on his soda. What the.....a cure? Huntin shook his head and took another sip of his Coke. He could get his---no.....he wouldn't. Green everything wasn't the best thing in the world, but it was harldy worth giving up teleportation and invisibility. Besides, who needed to be peach when you could just vanish to hide yourself? He was used to it after seventeen years, so why change?
"Jesus...." He muttered and thought to himself. He could see why some mutants would want the cure, but it did just seem like an easy way out....too easy....POOF!
*exit Huntin*

A sigh, followed by the muting of the TV. She brushed back her hair, looking down at her two sleeping children. They were three months now, and this "cure" would undoubtedly mean trouble for all mutants, children or adults. Hannah looked back at her sister and Amara, both of whom looked concerned and confused. "They act like it's a disease." Hannah muttered, eyes flickering back to the television.

"Nonsense," Iris said from the couch, "I doubt that they know anything about the long term affects of this drug. Besides we're just fine the way we are, we were given powers for a reason and the next thing you know the government will make us take this drug so there won't be any mutants at all!"
"For some of us it is," Rogue said to Hannah's comment from the windowsill looking at her gloved hand and balled her hand into a fist.

"What would be more useful is if they made something that helped mutants turn their powers on and off." Amara said, holding a sleeping Kristin in her lap. She looked over at Rogue. "For mutants like Rogue or Cyclops."
"We know we know we're fine. Most of the humans think we're a curse to the race of homosapiens." Willow said, arms crossed over her chest as she glared at the TV. "You're right Iris, the government will probably be knocking on the Institute's doors and day now. But I suppose blowing them up wouldn't be the 'proper' way to respond."

Iris sighed, "Nor wiping their minds," she said, "We'll just have to upgrade the security system and build more escape routes in case the government decides to be forceful."

"Are you sure?" Midnight asked, but by the sparkling in her eyes, she already believed him.
"I'm sure," came Jasper's frantic whisper. "It is probably in the news right now. I've got to get back. Be careful, Midnight." He wheeled around and took off running for the front gate.
Midnight stared after him and then went quickly to the living room where the TV was. There were already people in there, eyes on the silent TV, flickering with images of Warren Worthington Jr. and the Worthington Labs.
"So it's true, then?" Midnight asked, excitment in her voice. "They can cure me?"

"We can call Forge, he'll be able to come up with something big and covert-y." Hannah suggested mildly, looking around the room. She ignored her sister, who was looking moody and sour about the peaceful way out. "And we can talk to Beast about helping start on more escape routes."
"Iris," Amara started, looking at the older woman. "What are the chances that the government will decide to try and force mutants to take this 'cure'? And what if it works?" Amara asked, worried. "Not that my powers bother me anymore, but still..."

'Yeh that's right, they can make us freaks normal," Rogue said crossing her arms and frowning.
"A good chance if they see us as a threat," Iris said truthfully, "Until more information about this place is discovered I think we should all stay away from it and keep our heads low when we go out into public. No need to give the government more of a reason to make us take this cure."

"Eight years ago, I would have loved to have that cure. But my powers are just too big a part of me to get rid of." Hannah said, conjuring a yo-yo of electricity to play with to soothe her nerves. Using her powers always helped her nerves. "This will be an interesting week. We can hope they'll decide we aren't a threat."

A look of disappointment stole over Midnight's dark eyes and disappeared, leaving her face a mask emotionlessness. "So we aren't allowed to take it?" she asked, cautiously, glancing quickly at Rogue to see what she thought. If anyone else in the room wanted to be rid of their powers, it was Rogue.

Emerald 's tail wagged back and forth aimlessly as she thought about the cure. She didnt really think that mutants needed to be cured because nothing is wrong with them. Its not like becoming a mutant was a disease it was merely a stage in evolution. "
Ruby on the other hand was awfully torn between it. On one hand she like being part fox and she liked her powers but hte other half of her wanted to take the cure so she could look...normal. It wasnt easy having fox ears and a fox tail, it was hard to wear the stupid watch all the time but then again she would feel awfully empty inside without her powers.
"How in the world did they devolp this cure? It couldnt just be made out of some chemicals could it?" Ruby asked fox ears perking up.

Orick appeared in the room, with a newspaper in his hand. He looks very excited. “Wow, did they told about it in the TV? They found a Cure for the X – Gene!” He showed them a newspaper. “What do you think about it? I think, it’s a kind of…propaganda. They want to calm down people. Another trick of government, in the war with us?” He sighed quietly “There are still people, who thinks, we are other…” Orick looked at them and throw the newspaper, at the table. On the first page there was a big article called “Cure for Mutation”.

Orick looked surprised at Kyra. “Oh, Ok, we can go” He smiled and looked at the newspaper one more time, just to remember the article. “We should go” He said calmly, but he was still thinking, about Cure.
((exit Orick, continue in mall))
