Echo walks into the kitchen, and opens the fridge. He turns to girl, "Find a place to sit, any were is fine." He starts moving things around in the fridge. "So thirsty, hunger, both, whats your poison?"

"A little of both, but as far as a drink goes, I only drink water. But food wise, I can cheat a little today, depending on what you have." She shrugged and smiled. "I kinda live by a strict diet," Phoebe said sheepishly. She was so skinny so people normally looked down on her for being on a diet, but in her world thin was it. You couldn't be fat.

Echo nodded, "O.K. then." He walked over to a cupboard and placed his hand on the door. "Cups aren't in there." He did the same to another cupboard door. "Here we go." He got two cups, filled one with ice water fro the girl, and got some Root Beer for himself. "He walked into a pantry, and yelled to the girl. "Do you have any preferences? It seems we got just about everything."

Phoebe took a sip of the ice water and thought about his question. "No, whatever you bring out is fine with me," she said. She really wasn't in the mood for anything in particular, so she was sure anything he brought out would be great. Phoebe sat down at a table and looked around. The place felt like a home. It was something she could get used to. It was also something she had never really had.

Echo continued his quest, Hmm,.. what to eat. He looked up and saw a can of tomato sauce, and a box of noddles. Spaghetti, I could do Spaghetti. "Does pasta sound good?"

She thought about that for a moment. Carbs could be dangerous, but she could easily run an extra mile or two. "Sure, pasta sounds great," Phoebe smiled. It did actually sound good. It had been a while since she had pasta.

Echo gathered the ingredients. He didn't want to show off, but this might be a good time to meet, and talk with the girl. Using his special body vibration, he easily got the pans, cooking utensils, other ingredients out in a matter of seconds. He stopped as the water from the faucet slowly filled a cooking pot. He nodded to Phoebe, "Super speed. Got to love it." As the pot filled up with water, Echo set it on the stove and turned it on. He walked over to a chair and sat down. "That's the easy part. But I've never been much of a cook."

"Very nice," Phoebe commented on his speed. "Must come in handy." She stood and walked over to where he was. "You may not be much of a cook, but I grew up in Greece and know a great deal about cooking, especially pasta type dishes. Our culture isn't too different from Italian culture. Any help you need I be happy to provide," she smiled up at him.

Echo tightened a little, "Well all I know is, cook the noodles, heat the sauce, and and some cheese and spices." He looked at her eyes, "Your not going to grade me our you? I know this is a school, but we handle different things besides cooking."

"That depends on the performance," Phoebe said playfully. "My mother taught me this secret when I was little. To know if the pasta is actually cooked enough, throw it against the wall. If it sticks you're good." She shrugged.

"Really? I'll have to try that." He just couldn't get something out of his mind, her eyes. "I might sound weird but your eyes remind me so much of my little sister. She had nice, sky blue eyes. Kinda like yours. But there's a difference, yours are lighter in shade." He looked down, "Sorry. I didn't meant to embarrass you."

Phoebe smiled at the comment and placed a hand on his upper arm, "Trust me you would have to do far more then that to embarrass me." She removed her hand and walked over to her water. "They're lighter in color because I have a slightly dimmed eyesight. I see everything darker then normal because the light I produce can disorient and it would be bad if it did that to me."

"I have no idea why my sisters eyes are so accented, but they are. Normally blind people have eyes like her, but she isn't blind. Can't explain it either. She's deaf though, but I doubt that makes a difference." He checked on the noodles, "Yours are alot more alive though. I like that."

"Well, I wish I could explain it to you, but I'm no scientist." Phoebe joked. She blushed slightly when he made the comment about her eyes, but she was good at hiding it. "This place is really nice." Phoebe looked outside and noticed a pool. "And fully loaded apparently," she motioned to the pool. "I love lounging by the pool. The water is always so relaxing."

"You know, I've never been out there. Heck, there is a lot of places here I haven't been." He check the spaghetti. "So do you want to check your cooking method?" Echo picked up a piece of spaghetti with fork, and pealed it off into his hands. "Sticky."

Phoebe smiled, "Well that's already a good sign. Go ahead and throw it against the wall. See if it sticks."

Echo tried, but it stuck to his finger. "Aw. Get Of." He wiggled it a couple times and it landed in his other hand. Which he easily threw at the wall, and held. "Yes." Echo walked over, and removed the noodle, before throwing it away. He went into some cupboards and got out a colander. An poured out the noodles. Steam fumed around his face, causing his eyes to water. "That kinda burns."

Phoebe laughed as he struggled to get the noodle off his hand and nodded when he finally was able to fling it and it stuck. "Yeah, you really should be careful. Steam can actually boil your skin right off. But it's also great for clearing your pores."

"Oh really. Well that just cleaned my whole face up." He graped a kitchen towel and whipped his face off. "I need to finish the sauce, but we can still talk." He walked back toward the stove and mixed the red topping. "So? How much control do you have over your powers? If you don't mind me asking."

"Well, quite a bit. I spent the last three years in seclusion in a cabin in upstate New York and worked on my powers. The showed up late in life, it was actually the night before my 18th birthday. A guy attacked me in an ally and my powers threw him away. They saved my life, really. Once I was released from questioning I packed my bags and pulled out as much money as I could and drove away." Phoebe looked away and shrugged. "So for three years it has been nothing but working on developing my powers."
