"You know," Ellen said letting go of Kirk and thoughtfully putting her hand to her chin, "I bet Iris could help a bit with your powers. That's if you could hunt her down, she appears and disappears faster then a jack rabbit on crack."

Midnight's eyes met his and she made a guess as to what he had seen. She blushed wildly and hurridly pulled her socks and shoes back on and strapped on the black leather band around her wrist. Shivering slightly, she sat down on the steps as Ellen kept badgering McKay. She had heard of Iris before and had heard that she had great power. The girl personally creeped her out a bit.
But just so she wouldn't get the wrong impression, she asked McKay, "What... what did you see?"

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Nicole landed gracefuul next to a group of kids and folded her wings making sure she didn't cut anyone, " I'm sorry to interupt, but can one of you tell me how or where can I find a room here?" Her voice was a little rough since she hadn't spoken in a couple of years, hoping they wouldn't be scared of her, she decided to introduce herself, "I'm Nicole, but you can call me Razor Hawk if you like. I'm new."

Midnight glanced up at the girl who had just landed on the lawn and all at once a whistful look crossed her face. Wings. The girl had wings. Why was it that Midnight had the luck to be a mutant but even then did not get the only thing she really wished for. Flight. Time and time again she dreamt of flying, always a struggle just to lift off the ground. But then, she still tried and she still flew. Now, in real life she was confronted by an image of what she wanted to be, wanted to have. Why did the genes have to be against her? All she wanted was to fly; to slip into the air and take off and be free. Flying over the tall buildings that used to dwarf her and the narrow streets that trapped her.
All that had passed through her mind the moment the girl landed. She then turned her thoughts reluctantly back to the present. "Hi Nicole," she murmered, trying to a keep the malice out of her voice. She had no right to be jealous. "You should probably speak to Professor Xavier if you want a room. He takes in most mutants."

Nicole saw a look in the girl's eye she really didn't like. Could she be nealous? No. Impossible. Nothing she had was worth envy. Her dangerous metal wings and claws were there to remind her of the monster she was.
Druid got out of Ellen's way and walked swiftly over to the winged girl and offered his hand, "It's nice to meet you Nicole, I'm Druid. I'm also looking for a room."
Nicole took his hand and shook it firmly. Once she released his hand she looked over to the show girl with her steely gaze, "Where could I find this Professor?"

"He might be in his office... he might be teaching a class... chances are, he already knows you are here." Midnight said that with a bit of a grin. The Professer had unnerved her the first time she met him by greeting her with a name she hadn't used since she had run away. She wanted to share the feeling she got when she walked into his office, not knowing anyone, having just hitchhiked her way from Chicago, and wanting to run back to the only person she had met: Zach. She hadn't seen him for a long time and assumed he was no longer at the Institute. Pity, that.
"Otherwise, I might be able to find you a room to settle down in. You'll probably have to fill out some paperwork... the Prof likes to know who is staying in the mansion, even if he is willing to let them stay."
