Chapter I
The Dawn of Darkness
"James, come down for lunch." Said Tashira Howlette, Wolverine or as we knew of him then James. She smiled up the stairs at her one and only child. He brought her so much joy it seemed almost too great to be possible.
"Yes mom." He replied as he started walking down the stairs. When he reached the bottom he walked into the kitchen, and was surprised to see his father, Junaris Howlette, sitting there at the table. "Dad!" He exclaimed as he threw himself into his fathers arms. "You're sure home allot earlier than you usually are. Why is that?" Asked the inquisitive young child.
"Hey there James, dang your getting big." Junaris said as he picked up his little boy and placed him on his lap. "Well, I'm home early because I wanted to spend some more time at him with you and your mother today, so I got someone to fill in for me." It didn't take a genius to know that his father totally made that one up. Just a little child to believe it. Tashira knew he had to be lying, his boss must have sent I’m home to avoid all the persecution, that had been brought about by his marriage to her. Tashira looked over at Junaris, who then nodded affirming her suspicion. She couldn't help but let a single tear fall from her eye. Which luckily went unnoticed by her endearing son.
When she married Junaris people we disgusted by the fact that she, a human, would even consider marrying a Catharr. She feared for his safety, especially because almost everyday he would have to fight his way him. Risking his life by so much as walking outside. Many times he could have been killed.
"Hey James I met a Jedi at work today."
"Dad what's a Jedi?" James says looking up at his fathers face.
"Jedi are the protectors of the peace in the galaxy. They protect people from others that might hurt them, they investigate crimes, they do allot of cool things. Jedi even have many amazing abilities." Junaris said looking back down at his son who’s eyes seemed to glow, as he thought about what his father was telling him.
They ate their lunch then James ventured up to his room once again, to resume playing and looking up things on his holo-computer. Once the door had close behind him, Tashira couldn't hold it in anymore she burst out into tears, then asked. "How long do we need to suffer here? Every day I wonder if you will even be coming home." She said with tear filled eyes as she falls into her husband’s warm embrace.
"Were would we go? We'd be treated the same way anywhere we went." He said as he held her in his arms.
"So did you find out what that mark on his back is?" Tashira asked still sobbing somewhat. There was a pause of silence, then he answered after taking a deep breath, and sighing.
"yes, it is the symbol of Marka Ragnos, a Sith Lord of all things." He said with a look of concern on his face.
Tashira's crying continued to rain down lime the Monsoon season on the planet Manaan. She knew that she was a descendant of Marka Ragnos, but for such a thing to manifest itself on her sweat little boy was too much.
Junaris kissed his wife gently on the forehead, as he held her close. Little did they know that James had inherited his father's keen senses including hypersensitive hearing. He sat down on his bead, with his body curled up, his head resting on his knees. It wall made sense to him now all those time his father had come home with bruises he had been defending himself. James now realized that he was a reject to society. This thought made him cry uncontrollably.
Suddenly there was a loud knock at the door. Junaris opened it only to find a blaster rifle in his face. He wasted no time, but contracted the claws from his fingertips. Then proceeded to slice the rifle in half, and tossed the man back out the door. The other men didn't hesitate one bit, but fired shots into his body till he fell to the floor. Tashira in an effort to save at least herself, and her child grabbed an Echani dueling blade, then tossed it at one of them men. Who easily avoided it then shot her in the chest. Just then James made it to the bottom of the stairs, only to find his parents dying, and the men who had attacked them.
The brutes looked into his tear filled eyes, then said to each other.
"Lets leave this freak he'll starve to death soon enough." Then they walked off.
"James." His father managed to say as he coughed. "You have to go to Coruscant, there you'll need to find the Jedi. They will take care of you, and keep you safe." He said forcing a smile, as he tried to comfort his child.
"It'll be okay James. I... love....." His mother struggled to say as she exhaled her last breath.
"I love you James. Now be careful." His father said as he looked into his boy's eyes, for what would be the last time.
"I will dad, I love you too." As soon as James said this is father slowly exhaled, his body lowered, and his hands went limp.
James knew what he had to do, he packed up everything he would need, taking only the most important things with him, including many of the items that had been passed down in the family for generations. He took one last look at his parents and the house that he had lived in since he was born, then headed of for coruscant.
What will happen to him on his journey throught the core worlds? How will he find the jedi order? Find out in chapter two, The blackening of a Heart.
But you know there is only one way you're gonna get it, thats right you're gonna have to beg. *Evil grin*
Plus I'm not done with chatper two yet.
