Bio/History: Phebe was born and raised in Boston, Massachusetts. Her father was Italian and her mother was Irish and Italian. Because of her parents’ nationalities, Italian was often spoken and Phebe became fluent in the language. Phebe attended Boston College High School, and graduated in the top ten percentile for her year.
Phebe’s mutant abilities began developing when she was about twelve and a half. She had gotten into a fight at school, and she easily beat the other girl with some kung-fu moves she had seen in a movie. After the fight, Phebe was confused. She didn’t understand how she had been able to fight like that. When she got home that day, she went through all her old martial arts movies and found that she was able to do each of the moves that the actors had done.
When Phebe was sixteen, her parents were killed in a car crash. In her parents’ will, her father had stated that if anything was to happen to them before she was an adult, she would be emancipated and become Alessandro’s legal guardian.
She discovered her second mutant ability, when she had been teaching Alessandro to ride a motorcycle. A truck had pulled out in front of them, and Alessandro hadn’t been able to stop in time. He had swerved into a guardrail. Right before they crashed, Phebe unconsciously threw up a force field around them, shielding them from the impact.

1 Ability to mimic any athletic or martial arts movement after seeing it once.
2 Energy shields, often invisible or translucent, produced as a form of protection. In science fiction and fantasy literature, a force field is a barrier made up of energy to protect a person, area or object from attacks or intrusions. The idea may be based partly on the concept of a vector field, though in character they resemble the "warding spells," the defensive magic used by Druids and Shamans to prevent harm wrought by malice of evil beings.
Science fiction venues postulate a number of potential uses for force fields, especially in the television series Star Trek:

- A barrier to allow workers to work in areas that can be exposed to the vacuum of space, keeping the atmosphere inside while allowing certain other objects to pass through.
- Emergency quarantine of an area afflicted by some sort of agent (ex: poison gas) to prevent it from spreading.
- The extinguishing of a fire by forcing the reaction to use up all the available oxygen in the confined space.
- As a shield (in some cases large enough to cover an entire planet) to protect something from damage by natural forces or enemy attack.
- To create a temporary habitable space in a place not usually suited to sustaining life.
- As a security method to direct someone in a particular direction for capture.
- For cell doors in jails and prisons.
