Full Name: Damaris Pierce
Nicknames: Bend
Codename: None yet
Age: 19
Origin: Washington DC
Hair color: Black
Eye color: Gray
Height: 5’8
Weight: 130
Personality: Damaris has a sort of cruel, bitter, sarcastic way about her. She is not a kind person, except to those she really cares about. Even then, it would be another step to actually act nice to them, but she will do things that are a sort of self-sacrificing thing. She might clean their shoes or carry their stuff, little things that are often not noticed. At a deeper level, she will stop being mean or saying sarcastic stuff to them. Damaris very rarely loses her temper and when she does, it is a cold sort of fury, leaving her totally in control of herself and her powers. She is otherwise self-serving and out for her own gain.
Appearance: Tall, thin, and wiry. She has thick black wiry, curly hair and a widow’s peak. Her hair is usually done in a multitude of long braids then tied into two balls (buns) on the base of her skull, with a couple hanging out. She has pale skin, full lips, and a facial structure that looks somewhat strange in relation to her skin color. Her nose is wide and she has high cheekbones. At the very least, she looks interesting.
Clothing: Her clothing style can be funky and thrown together. She has worn neckties with tanktops and camo with stripes. Her shoes are usually a pair of sturdy boots. She has multiple piercings in each ear. Her clothes are usually comfortable. Her uniform includes a pair of goggles or tight-fitting glasses to protect her eyes when she has the outer layer. Her outfit is made of unstable molecules so that it is covered with the layer as well.
Parents: Matthew Jones (Father), Porsha Pierce (Mother)
Powers: Strong telekinesis, very weak but potential telepath, can see mental energies and can join with other telepaths or telekinetics to boost their powers, and has the ability to walk through metals and liquids to create an outer layer of protect (example: steps through a glass window and it sticks to her like a second skin, a glass protective layer)
Weaknesses: When wearing a protective outer layer, mental powers are greatly reduced. The outer layer also does not cover eyes, leaving them vulnerable. When she joins with other telepaths or telekinetics, she loses control of her own powers and they have full control. Her telepathy is so weak she cannot even form mental links on her own, only send messages and occasionally pick up strong thoughts.
Affiliation: (Xavier's, Brotherhood, Independent): Independent, however is willing to join either Brotherhood or Marauders
Skills/Interests: A very talented gymnast, extremely flexible, however that is not a power, just a talent. Dances hip-hop. Skilled pickpocket. Miner computer cracking skills. Can use a gun and a knife to a certain degree (not an expert, but at least knows how to turn off safety, shoot, reload, and clean a gun and can handle a knife well enough to actually be dangerous with one). She used to play drums. She has a strange obsession with pirates.
Bio/History: Damaris and her older brother Jeremiah and another younger brother were the illegitimate children of a black woman named Porsha Pierce. As a result, they grew up in the ghettos of Washington DC, only occasionally seeing their white father Matthew Jones. He married their mother when Damaris was thirteen and after that shaky marriage, they divorced when Darmaris was seventeen. They were given into their mother’s custody while their father took their younger brother, going to live in a state in the mid-west, leaving Porsha, Jeremiah, and Damaris in Washington DC. Their mother was poor and did not have the means to raise her children. Even the child support did not help much. Because of this and mild trauma because of the divorce, Jeremiah ran away.
Damaris was very close to Jeremiah. They had been each other’s only support during the marriage and divorce. Because of this closeness, they were often cruel to their younger brother. Later, they did not even have him with them. When Jeremiah ran away, Damaris was crushed. If the one person she really cared about would run off and leave her, who could she trust? It was partly a sense of betrayal and partly just because he was gone that she also ran away.
Damaris traveled around the USA, doing odd jobs however she could and stealing when she couldn’t. Her mutant powers developed when she was eighteen, but she pretty much ignored them, skipping town if they caused a problem. She didn’t find Jeremiah, and wasn’t even sure if she was looking for him, but eventually she traveled with a carnival to Bayville, doing acrobatics along with another team. She has a pretty good mind to ditch the carnival and check out what was going on in the mutant capital of the world.
((I am aware that these powers are on the restricted list, but I was hoping this would be one of those bios that are good enough you allow to pass. That, and the list isn't exactly up to date either, with several people being MIA.))
