Crunch, crunch, crunch, crunch...
Remy trudged through the forest, lugging a few grocery bags. Muttering to himself under his breath, he slipped into a small cave that he had dubbed his hideout since he'd arrived in Bayville. The furnishing left much to be desired and there was definitely a draft, but it would do until he stole enough cash to afford an apartment.
"Hhmmp," He said, tossing the grocery bags to the floor. He had blankets in one corner, a cooking fire in the middle, and two pots sitting off to one side. Taking out a bottle of water, he poured some into one pot and set it onto the fire to boil.
Reclining on his pile of blankets, Remy settled down, his eyes drooping tiredly. He dozed slightly, waiting for his water to boil so he could make himself some ramen. Cheapest food in the world, that stuff.

Click click click "Heeeen.....heeeeen....heeeeeeen....." clickclick. A faint, high-pitched whine barely could be heard as it echoed through the cave. It seemed to be coming from the back, the slightest bit back form the fire's glow. A small rustle, another small whine or squeak, and then a few more clicks came from the area. There came silence from the part of the cave, then a soft breathing.

One of Remy's crimson eyes opened, flitting around the room for the source of the noises. He didn't see anyone, but he could hear the breathing. The man didn't move, save for a mere tensing of the muscles, before he relaxed and closed his eye. He feigned sleep, waiting to see if this mysterious guest would show itself.

"Heeeeeen....heeeeeeeeeeeen...." The squeaky whine went on for a few moments. Soon, however, the squeak became something quite different. The source oft he noise began to grumble, just the slightest bit. Words weren't very discernable, but every so often a few made sense. "Graghhg.....metal....gran gru gru.....meat......." The grumbling went on for a good minute before the sqeuak returned. "Heeeeeen.....heeeeeeen......"

Remy willed himself to breath steady, pulling a card out of his pocket with careful and practiced stealth. He charged the card, keeping it steady and ready to use at a moment's notice. He tried to zero in on the source with no avail; the echoes in the cave made it near impossible to discern where it was coming from.

"Fleh freh freh........." A very new noise soon presented itself. A crunching and popping, much like joints and breaking bones, made its way through the air. Soon a tearing osund was added to the mix. The procession of sound was slow and loud this time. After it finished, there was a deep FWUMP as though something was flapping in the cave. Then all of the noises stopped. Bits of fabric fluttered down into the light, powder blue in color. The shirt was torn down the sides along the seems. "Heeeeeeeeeeeeen...."

Remy tensed slightly as the fabric fluttered down. In one quick movement, he flicked his wrist letting the card fly. It sailed upward, not touching the top of the cave before it exploded. Light filled the top of the cave, illuminating it. Remy glared upwards, trying to find the cause of the noise.

"WAAHAHHAHAA!" Mac flailed wildly at the explosion, waking up in panic. "WHAT WHAT WHAT WHAT!?" His wings flapped madly and he unhooked his taloned feet from the roof of the cave. He flapped his wings in a frenzy and wound up falling to the gorund. There wasn't enough room for his wingspan, and he wound up hitting the roof of the cave and jutting downwards. On the ground he tried to get himself up, his heart racing and his eyes looking around wildly. "What what what whooo what?!?!"

Remy was already on his feet, sparking car in hand. He didn't speak, merely stared at the creature with a scrutinizing expression. Years of experience bred mistrust; he wouldn't relax until he was given a reason to. Lips pursed, body tense, he stared the thing down, waiting to see its next move.

Suddenly Mac froze, looking up at Remy. He was seated on the ground, his legs sprawled out. His talons gleamed in the light of the fire. "You in my cave. You make loud noises. My cave. Mine." He scooted forward, still on the ground, bouncing the slightest bit as he inched towards Remy. "My cave. Mine. You out. You human. Out."

"Ya wanna try and make me?" Remy drawled, taking a step towards the creature. Intimidation was option number. Talking it out was number two, but he never did like talking very much. Three was to fight, and four was to leave. He wasn't going to let it get to four. The card sparked threateningly as Gambit glared down at the creature.

"No. No make. Me tell. You leave. Go go go. You no belong here. This not human area. Building humans. This no for humans." He pointed towards the exit of the cave with a clawed wing. It was apparent he was either too brave, stupid, or crazy to be intimidated. "You take stuff, go go."

Remy flicked the card up, letting it explode above their heads as a warning shot. "Come again?" He grunted, "Cause Ah'm not going anywhere. Like Ah said, you wanna try and make me?" There was another card in his hand by now. Remy glared. "Now, Ah don't know 'bout you, but this cave seems plenty big for two."

Mac twitched at the sound fo the explosion, a bit more ready for it this time. "Big enough for this many." His wings absorbed into his body, and he held up one hand, each finger spread out. "Big enough for this many." He held up two fingers next. "But me like this many." He held up one finger. "You no more make boomy, me think."

Remy was getting a bit tired of this thing. "Ah'll tell ya what. Ah'm gonna stay here whether you you like it or not. So, we can either do this the quiet way or the boomy way. Whats it gonna be?" He grinned dangerously, holding up his empty hand. "Quiet way," Then he held up the card, "Boomy way. S'your choice."

"Oh put boomy down. You humans loud. Like the boomy. Stupid boomy." Mac stood up and twitched a bit. "You be quiet, me tired." Again, intimidation had little to no effect on this one. Mac went to one of the walls of the cave to get a good foothold. He let his wings come out once more, twitching with the cracking and popping of his bones. He pushed himself upwards and did a bit of a back flip as he latched onto the roof of the cave once more with his feet. He wrapped his wings around his torso and spoke in a bit of a muffled voice. "No more boomy. Sleep time."

"Yeah, yeah," Remy said, diffusing the card and tucking it away. By then the water was boiling. He threw in the noodles, letting them boil until they were ready. He pulled them out, dumping them into a cracked plastic bowl. Pouring the powder onto the noodles, he mixed them together and began to shovel them into his mouth.

"Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeen...........heeeeeeeen......." Mac drifted off to sleep quite soon. He had to store his energy for the night, and he didn't need any stupid human wrecking his sleepy time. "Heeeeeeeeeeeeen....human stupid stupid........heeeeeen......ow ow human grr stupid heeeeeeeen..."

Remy glanced up, grimacing. What the fuck was a heeeeeeeen and why did he keep repeating it? He shrugged it off, finishing off his food. He settled back down on his blankets, crossing his arms and closing his eyes. He needed sleep too and he'd be damned if he let that crazy creature keep him up.

As the day wore on, Mac continued to sleep. A few minutes after the sun set, he slowly awoke, stretching his arms out and yawning. He looked at the upside-down Remy, and twitched a bit. "Who y-oh. Human bag. Right." As Mac flipped to the ground, he took his wings in. With his back to the entrance of the cave and Remy, he put on his almost novelly-large sneakers. His serial number tattoo was the slightest bit visible over the top of his pants. While putting on the sneakers, he stumbled, did a small roll forward, and looked around, a bit confused, before continuing the process. Tying laces, that was still an art he had yet to master.
