Bio/History:
Riley was born and forthe most part grew up in Deerwood Texas. Though when Riley was five Her parents disappeared and she was then sent to live with her grandparents down in Montana.
For the next few years Riley had a pretty normal childhood. Playing and helping her grandpa on the ranch, learning to rope and ride, and though she'd never admit it she did enjoy the gymnastics and singing lessons her grandma made her attend in town. The summer Riley turned nine was the year her grandma passed away from what Riley told was just old age but in reality was cancer.
After her grandma died Riley noticed changes in her Grandpa. Changes she didn’t quite understand at the time but years later she would recognize as broken heartedness. Over the next few months he slowed down emencly. Hardly wanting to even get out of bed. So Riley worked hard on taking care of him and the ranch praying that he'd get better if she tried hard enough.
But it wasn’t and a few weeks short of a year from her grandma’s death, Riley's Grandpa went to join her grandma. Since she didn’t have any other relatives Riley was thrown into the foster system. Quickly learning that she was on her own and nothing would ever be as it seemed.
Over the next few years Riley would be tossed around into multiple foster and group homes where she would also discover that she was able to see and know things that others couldn’t. Just by touching something and she could see memories of another person or an event that had happened in the past. She was then finally moved to New York with some other children whom Montana had no room for.
When Riley was twelve her powers evolved and she discovered that she could feel what others had when she was in her echos. The first time that it happened Riley was in the bedroom which she shared with another girl. Riley saw a murder which had happened several years ago.
Coming out or the echo Riley found herself covered in blood, several large gash's covered her arms and chest. Before the blood and gore faded though her room mate came in and saw everything before passing out. Riley though managed to pass it off as the girl imagining things and it thankfully left at that.
At Fifteen Riley met Danny Montgomery. A rebel boy who lived down the street from where she was staying. Danny quickly noticed her and took Riley under his wing and into his heart.
The two became inseparable. It was in their time together that Riley learned even more about the ways of the streets. She mastered with ease how to fight, pick locks and hot wire cars, even though she knew it wasn’t right. But she just wanted Danny's approval. Even if that meant becoming something that she wasn’t. Soon Riley was ditching school and staying out all night drinking and hanging out with Danny and his friends.
When Riley was seventeen Danny wanted to go further in their relationship then she was willing to. This started a strain in their relationship. While Riley was living the life of a rebel she was still a small town girl at heart. And she didn’t think sleeping with Danny was the way to move forward. At this point she wasn’t sure what the right move would be but she knew it wasn’t to start sleeping together.
Over the next few weeks Danny became distant. And Riley had a feeling that something was wrong and after many restless nights she made a decision.
So one night she went to his place, ready to do anything to make him love her like he had before. The door was unlocked so she quietly entered. Apon entering the hallway to his bedroom she heard voices. Danny's and a woman’s. Long story short Riley confronted Danny and his new friend. After a screaming match Riley broke it off and with tears streaming down her face she left his house and went down to the park where she stayed until she gained some composure. Making a vow that she's never let a guy get to her as Danny had. And that she'd never compromise her values again for she wasn’t white trash as people thought her to be and she would some day prove everyone wrong.
The next morning Riley was moved to a group home across town. A week later she ran away after caretaker’s husband hit her when she wasn’t quick enough to grab him a beer.
Since then Riley's straightened out some and accomplished so much then any one would have thought she could. Over the years since she first discovered her powers, Riley has learned how to keep them in check some. though she is now finding it harder to control her abililities lately. Riley holds down a full time job as a bar tender in down town New York while she still quietly tries to look into her parent’s disappearance in her spare time though so far nothing has turned up.
*Example Post:
Riley poured the patron another beer as she looked at the clock up on the wall. Two more hours and then she could finally start to close up. The Bar was almost empty save three customers at the bar and two others at a table watching some rerun of the latest baseball game.
fighting off a yawn she focused on finishing the tasks at hand as she made a mental list of everything she needed to do. sweep the floors, load the dish washer, wipe the tables, and make a list off liquors that they were running low on.
Suddenly a loud crash, jolted Riley out of her thoughts as she looked to see that one of the men at the table was throwing a tantrum about the ball game. Sighing she went and got the broom so she could get rid of the broken glass. She'd now have to mop as well.
This is going to be a long night. Riley thought as she put the glass in the trash and went to get the man another drink.
A large figure entered the bar, having to almost duck under the door frame. the mans eyes were hidden behind his dark shades. He wore a leather jacket and dark jeans. It had been his first time back to the city since the mutant extermination went into effect. After having half the cities armed force on you, you'd think that Ryden would stay clear of the city entirely, but Ryden liked the booze, and the women...
Ryden glanced over at the two men watchig the game at the table. He shook his head, having already seen it.
"Yankee's sure blew it that game." He said to himself but it was loud enough for the two to hear. Ryden sat up on a bar stool.
"Aw great thanks for spoiling it for us pal." One of the men said while turning around.
"Meh, your not missing much. Yankee games are usually a drag anyways." Ryden replied.
"I don't like your tone." The man stated advancing towards Ryden from behind.
Ryden slowly spun around on his stool peering at him from behind his shades.
The door to the bar swung open and the man was tossed several feet out, rolling on the street. The other man who was with him ran out to check on him, seconds after Ryden one-hand tossed him out. Ryden returned to his seat at the front of the bar seeing the cute young waitress. "Can I get a drink?"
Riley eyed the new comer as she asked him if he wanted a drink. she wondered how he'd done that but decided to just let it go. This place was like vegas. what happens here stays here. Plus she hadnt seen him here before, though they were always seeing new faces. this was after all a bar.
Setting down the drink she went to clear the table where the two men had been. as usual the guys were they're cheap and annoying selves, not bothering to leave a tip.
Oh well. she thought as she got rid of the glasses and then started wiping down the table.
"So I have'nt seen you around the neighborhood before. You're knew to town?" she asked over her shoulder to the new comer.
