Eliza adjusted the strap to her duffel bags filled with different presents for her friends. For a moment she stood outside of the common room, it wasn't her team's common room, but Huntin's. She had taken off for back to back photoshoots when they had returned to Xavier's after the Paris incident. Then she had barely called, and when she did the calls never lasted more the a few minutes.
Eliza bit her bottom lip and ran a hand over her now bald head. It hadn't been so bad, most of the directors had loved her new look, but Eliza hadn't. She missed her mass of curly locks. But so far no hair had grown from her pale scalp, she figured that she needed more time then the rest of her body to heal the folicales.
She opened the door to the common room, the tv was on but no one was in the room. Eliza stepped inside and looked at the tv, her face was on the show. Then she looked to the corner of the screen and saw a large red, E.
She walked over to the couch and sat down on the sofa cushion edge staring at the screen. The whole show went through her life, from birth, growing up, the paparazzi scandel, even Paris where the news said she had been trying to commit suicide.
Eliza shivered and drew her knees to her chest and continued to watch the screen.

Huntin hadn't spoken to Eliza much since Paris. He hadn't even touched or looked at her much. It seemed like he was trying to avoid her, even if only just a tadbit. What really crushed Huntin was the fact that this was a rerun. He had already seen this episode earlier that morning, and had seen his blurry, naked, black and white body on the screen. Everything he wanted--privacy, simplicity, peace--was gone.
He hated it. He hated the media, he hated Eliza's career, he hated the way he had acted so many times before, he hated everything that had come into his life. But no, now things were just like they were for him before he got to the Mansion. he honestly didn't plan on leaving, and no one he knew of could make him do that.
Huntin silently watched Eliza, just wanting to shout at her ARE YOU HAPPY NOW?!? but holding back with every ounce of maturity and control he could muster. He leaned against the doorframe, his arms crossed, shoulders hunched slightly.

Eliza had buried her face in her knees to keep from crying. She shouldn't feel bad, she had finally saved up enough money to go to school, live on her own, and in a few days she would retire from modeling all together. But she doubted that it was enough to keep the relationship between Huntin and her solid.
Eliza cleared her throat and looked up at the tv again, resisting the urge to throw the remote into the screen. Instead she turned off the tv and stood up to go looking for Huntin, only to be scared out of her skin by Huntin standing in the door.
She placed a hand on her heart to try to steady it and she looked at Huntin, then down at the floor, "Hey," she then said suddenly feeling guilty. She had taken off and left Huntin alone to deal with Fredrick sleeping with her, Artemis betraying him and Eliza, not to mention the fact that it looked like to the outside world that Eliza cared more about the career then her boyfriend who she claimed to love.

Huntin didn't speak, only tilted his head the slightest bit, not able to look at Eliza any higher than her neck. Even in the few days they had been back, change was easily noticed in Huntin. His posture became slouched as it used to be. Pudge was creeping its way back onto his stomach and cheeks slightly.
But the real kicker was his eyes. The green whites were ridden with more than obvious red lines, bags forming under his lashes. These were the eyes of a boy who had gone without sleep, only crying, for quite a while.
Huntin looked from Eliza to the floor, not really in the mood to look at her then.

Where Huntin had gained weight Eliza had lost at least ten pounds, giving her a thinner, more defined face, but her eyes were hollow looking and hungry. As she looked at Huntin she noted his posture, gained weight, but even so she resisted the urge to kiss him, to hold him, to apologize over and over again and try to make things better.
"Ih brought yah some stuff," she said sounding distracted as she sat back down on the couch and began digging through her duffel bag.

Huntin said nothing, pulling some gum out of his pocket and popping a piece into his mouth. He chewed slowly, barely half-interested in whatever Eliza had for him. He peered over the couch at her, still leaning as adamant as ever. He was mad at her, and wasn't about to forgive her just yet.

From her duffelbag Eliza pulled out a snowglobe and suddenly blushed and smiled a little at the small green figure in the glode as snow fell around it. The Great Gazoo smiled back at her, reminding Eliza of warmer, happier times in her relationship.
"It took me forevah tah find it," she murmured holding the globe over her shoulder for Huntin to take, "Seems silly now."

Huntin took a step forward, staring at the cartoon figure in the snow. Gazoo seemed to mock him, reminding him of everything he had lost. "Cute." he mumbled, lazily taking the snowglobe from her and putting it in his pocket, not sure if he was going to destroy it later.

"Ih'm quitten tha modelin business, goin tah start school soon," Eliza said and sighed before rubbing her head with her hands, "Ih'm thinkin of becomin ah doctah, with myh powahs Ih could really help some people. So yeah, Ih just thought that yah'd wanna know," she then said blinking back the pricking sensation in her eyes, "Ih saved up enough tah get myh own place, so Ih reckon as soon as Ih find that place Ih'll move out. Ih also made enough for yah tha go tah school too. Ih found ah couple of online schools yah could enroll in, if yah want," Eliza continued feeling like she was babbling to herself.

Huntin shrugged. "I'm fine." He stared at the back of Eliza's head. How often had he said he didn't want the whole school shindig? Plenty times. "Can learn here if I want." Even he wasn't sure if he was meaning to cut down her efforts or not. He sighed, taking the remote off of the couch and flipping the television on, quickly changing to relive events of Georgia.
He went through the channels quickly, coughing and turning back one, his eyes widening. "Holy....."
A campaign add was on, but something was wrong. Just WRONG. The candidate was well-built, even under a suit, slender, well-defined chin and excellent smile. His jet-black hair was slicked back, smooth but not greasy. His skin was complimented by the lighting as the narrator continued on. "-mutant equality. This election, vote Lyle P. Wilcox for New York Senator." The commercial ended with a pleasant and only slightly cheesy smile from Lyle, election dates and bills he was for under his picture.
Huntin stared blankly. "Why................." No, it couldn't be true. "Does all this shit...................happen at once.................." A rhetorical question, but one he had yet to understand.

Eliza heard the tone and knew that her offer to help Huntin would be accepted. She felt a pang in her heart and as Huntin turned on the television, she felt completely ignored and rejected. Whta had happened to their constant laughing over silly word puns, emo kids, and Anna Nicole Smith. Eliza felt like everything they had worked for in their relationship was gone.
She was about to ask Huntin if he hated her and wanted to end it all, when he flipped back to a channel and began wigging out. Lyle P. Wilcox, he had to be the brother that Huntin had once complained about when they had first met.
Eliza looked at the picture and blushed slighty, well Huntin had been right his brother did get the looks. In fact this Lyle fellow was very good looking. Eliza quickly cleared her throat and shook the blush/dreamy look from her face and looked up at Huntin.
"So that's him," and that's all she could say.

"Yeah," was all Huntin managed to spit out. Wait, why was this so bad? As far as he knew his brother supported mutants, so no big deal. It's not like Huntin would be in the tabloids having sex with Lyle. At that thought Huntin shuddered a little, putting his hands on the back of the couch and looking down at Eliza, recognizing the small remnants of blushing. No, don't get upset, don't add to it.
"So, did you just come for the globe or did you have anything to say?" His tone was flat as he spoke the longest sentence he had said to Eliza in weeks.

The hurt spread through her chest again and Eliza looked away from Huntin, "Ih just wanted tah say hi, Ih reckon. We haven't seen each othah for ah while," she added and winced realizing that wasn't the right thing to say constitering it was her job that had kept her away.
Eliza bit her lip and looked down at her hands, "Ih mean, hell Ih don't know what Ih mean," she then said her vice cracking a little.

Huntin sighed. He was getting antsy. Under his breath he said "whatever". It was barely audible even to himself as he stood back, taking out the snowglobe and heading towards his room.

Eliza lip quivered and she turned and looked at Huntin leaving, for a moment she wanted to stop him, tell him she loved him. But she stopped herself instead her lips squeaked out, "Ih missed yah hun," her cheeks turned red and she turned away, crossing her arms, wanting to curl up and throw a tantrum, cry, and hurt herself. But Eliza had more self control then that and just stood still.

"Yeah." Huntin managed as he headed to his room, his voice cracking the slightest bit. He slammed the door behind him, wishing he had a piano in there. Wishing Eliza would just follow him, but wishing she would just go away all at once. Why did she do this to him? He sat on his bed, shouting slightly as he hurled the snowglobe at the wall, the bits of wet "snow" seeping into the carpet, Gazoo laying on the floor face down, stuck on the pedastal of plastic and broken glass.

Eliza heard the crash and winced and finally letting the tears flow. She sobbed a littled trying to get herself under control as she walked down the hall to Huntin's door and opened it at looked at with with tear filled eyes, 'If yah hate me some much, yah shouldn't have taken tha gift, at least then IH'd have somethin tha remind me of yah," she sobbed suddenly not looking much like Eliza, instead she looked like a skinny, sad girl, who had lost everything.
Her shin quivered and she tried to stand tall and look strong, but she failed and just looked weak.

"Why do we even bother?" Huntin stood up, a few tears rolling down his face. "In the beginning it was so perfect. SO.....PERFECT!" he was beginning to turn a bit red. "I-I mean what happened? When did everything-" He cut himself off, clenching his jaw. "El....get out of my room," he grumbled as he sat back down.

Eliza's own hands turned into fists, 'Ih'm not tha one that changed. One minute yah were perfectly fine, anh tha next yah acted like yah wanted tah keep me in ah basement away from tha world. But yah know what Ih bothered cause Ih loved yah, not matter how much yah changed. Ih don't know why yah did," she said bitterly not moving, no refusing to move from Huntin's doorway, "When Ih first started modelin Ih didn't like it but Ih kept tellin myself that it was just for ah litle bit til Ih made some money then Ih could go back tah bein with yah. Then yah started changin anh Ih took more and more assignments cause I was afraid of yah Huntin. Yah temper frightened me anh Ih didn't know what yah were gonna do. Then after Georgia when we had that fight anh then forgave each othah, Ih thought everything was gonna be alright. But even before we knew Fredrick was evil, yah were horrible tah him just cause he was bein nice tah me!" she said more tears flowing down her cheeks.

"Well then maybe we just shouldn't be together if I'm so damn bad for you! How about that? Maybe we shouldn't be together if my temper has gotten so bad because I don't like the idea of guys all over the nation jac.king off to pictures of my half-naked girlfriend! Has it ever occured to you that all of this attention on you and even me is what's driving me insane? This freaking media circus? Before you started modeling, everything was hunky-dory! Just YOU and ME and OUR relationship, one hundred percent paparazzi free! But now I have to change my entire appearance just to go out in public. I have to base my life around your schedule!" Huntin didn't like yelling like that, ever.
