Piotr’s room was simple, but it suited him. A tarp covered the floor in a corner of the room, protecting the carpet from paint splatters. His easel and supplies sat on top, a canvas set in the easel’s frame and covered with an old sheet as it dried. At one time his weights had been in that corner, but regular weights no longer were of any use, he had to go down to the danger room to use heavier ones.
His clothes were neatly folded in his drawers or hung in his closet. Three pairs of shoes were lined up like little soldiers in the bottom of the closet, a pair of sneakers, dress shoes, and the heavy black boots that he only wore with his X-men uniform. His tan work boots were almost never in the closet because those were the shoes he wore most.
His room is neat and tidy, like Piotr himself. His bed is always made, except for when he is sleeping it in of course, with only a sheet. The cold air of Salem is usually nothing to him, and he is naturally warm, so he keeps the blankets folded at the foot of his bed. There are nightstands on either side of the large bed, with lamps on both. A small stack of books sits on the one side along with a travel size Russian/English dictionary.
A series of framed photos sit on his dresser across the room. One shows his older brother Mikhail just before his disappearance, dressed in his cosmonaut suit. Another shows his parents, the last- his little sister Illyana. His walls are covered with his unframed canvasses, paintings of Russia, his family, or scene from his imagination.
The room is done in a masculine style. The wooden dresser and nightstands are made of heavy mahogany, and the colors in the room are rich blues, purples, and greens. Though most of the room was dark blue it wasn’t depressing. Instead the large window added the brighter touch during the day, and the lamps added a certain sense of closeness and intimacy at night.
His bathroom is done the same way, only the colors are lighter more of a watery ocean theme. His laundry basket sits next to the door and the white tile in the sink has specks of paint in it from washing his hands or brushes.
