He smiled, "I'll do you one better, my dear." He picked her up into his arms, and walked slowly to a corner of the room, and sat down, craddling her, "Is it better to lie down?"
He cleared a lock of hair from her face, and noticed it looking more and more pale.

Morbid darkened the room completely once more. He slowly floated around to make it hard or impossible for those to attack him. Morbid seeing that the couple were content for the moment left them before going back to watching Iada.
"Amelia how does your mother?" Morbid asked a little curious. If Iris was losing their was no need to kill Amelia. If Midnight was in danger though he would wound Amelia greatly. Midnight's life was truly the only one he cared for even despite how she treated Morbid.

"My mother is no concern of yours," Amelia said trying to get up only to fall back into her seat, "She's able to take care of herself."
As soon as the room began to darken, Iada's aura flared up again and she grinned at Morbid studying him closely as he spoke to Amelia. Iada was crouched on the table formulating attacks in her head.

"Attacking Midnight is a foolish thing to do even for a general of Apocalypse. Call to her tell her your in danger. She will sense it and come. If she comes I will leave without further violence. She is after all the only reason I am here. Will other here have to die to protect you from me? Some will, they seem to care enough for you to happen. I care enough for Midnight to kill you even though I do not want to." Morbid stated to Amelia some options for her to consider. Midnight may be furious at Morbid when he returned to her if such a deal took place but her safety came first to him.
"Besides do you think they could defeat Apocalypse if I killed you and those that wish to die to protect you." Morbid stated that he knew he would have to kill Ravage before he would be able to kill her. Morbid truly only wanted Midnight unharmed by Iris. Morbid was better suited to fight Iris then Midnight but knew Midnight would still be a force for which Iris would have to reckon with.
He was running out of time either way. If Midnight took over Morbid people would beginning to die. Morbid was after all darkness and Midnight was it's master. Midnight would be able to take control of Morbid like a person who plays a puppet.
Morbid increased the darkness to counter Iada even more as he moved into the shadows and became invisible once more. Morbid's deal he offered her was sincere and honest.

"Even if I had the energy to call out to my mother, she couldn't hear me. Telepathic have ranges, stronger ones if the people are close. By my mother and I are not," Amelia said.

"If you speak to her, she will hear your call." Morbid said knowing Iris would. Amelia may have no true connect to her but Iris had and she was magical. "You life may swing in the balance." Morbid's voice whispered from the shadows just loud enough for Amelia to hear.

"My mother has suffered enough," Amelia said, "I don't need her to fight for me," she said not understanding magic part. Amelia herself had never had any magic, so she never had that connection with her mother either.

"So you do like having people die for you." Morbid stated. "First the guards and servants that Apocalypse murders because you decide to run away and know these mutant here. You could have stopped this peacefully but are you bitter at your true mother? For leaving you with him?" Morbid just wanted Iris away from Midnight but people here did not seem to care. Soon people will have to start dieing and Morbid knew he would not be one of them.

"Christian don't," Amelia said grabbing his hand and looking him in the eyes, "All will be worked out with the opening of a door," she said to him her voice sounding deeper and stronger.

Christian stopped, and backed up the Amelia, not taking his eyes off of Morbid, "As you command," he said, visibly angered.
I don't know what your planning, love, but it'd better be good. Facing Apocalypse after this won't do any one any good.

"I use to have a name, a home, a simple life that I enjoyed. Now look at me trapped in a cell, unable to even bend the bars. I use to be powerful too, bullets would bounce off of me, and I'd laugh at my enemies faces. I remembered when they first put the collar on me and then whipped me. Red liquid flowed out of my body and I realized that I was bleeding. It had been years since I had bled and seen my own blood," Ellen looked around her cell and sighed, she was depressed, broken, once she had been rosy faced, and had loved just having the sun on her face. But that had been a long time ago.

Midnight laughed softly at Iris. "Kind to me? No one is kind to me. They call me the Ghost Writer, the one who creates nightmares," she spoke, ignoring the spit of blood that passed straight through her. "And I do it because of you, Iris. I didn't intend to kill your daughter until you attacked me. But now, she dies for your actions, just like she lived by your actions. Not every parent has so much control over their offspring. Keep trying to hurt me with your words, I rather like it."
Jazz had given her friends a half-hearted smile at their jokes, and taken the gun carefully from Raphael. She felt honored to be his scout, although she did feel a tinge of jealousy at Amelia. She had been like a daughter and sister in Raphael's family, but now that there was a real daughter, she no longer believed she held the place. And then, the lights went out. At first she thought it was the Ghost, but then realized it wasn't, although the thing there was just as bad. Jasmine felt her anger building at it attacking her friends somewhere in the darkness. She could barely see except for Iada's light, which seemed to be jumping all over. Then, Jazz burst into flames. "How dare you attack us!" she roared, a walking inferno.

Iris smiled blood staining her teeth, "I wish we could have been friends Midnight. We would have made an awesome team," she said darkly shaking her head, "I fear our next meeting won't be so kind," Iris said and suddenly a door opened up under her and she disapeered.
The next thing Iris knew she was standing in the middle of a darkened room lit by someone on fire and someone else glowing. She stood still for a moment, looking at everyone in the room, before she lifted her staff, and from it admited a blinding white light that filled the room, "Go Morbid back to your master, she's safe for the moment," Iris said before collasping her staff still keeping the room lit.
'Okay everyone who's just been befuddled by the current appearence of Iris, please raise your hand," Iada said raising her hand.

"I don't want friends," Midnight muttered as Iris disappeared. "And at our next meeting, you might die. I certainly won't get hurt."
Jazz raised a flaming hand in response to Iada before the reality of the situation set in. Iris? Here? This was bad. The general of Apocolypse's armies was here standing in their bunker... And last time she had seen her, Maz had an emotional problem and Raphael who was slightly crazy anyway was probably going to get a lot crazier. Jasmine's raised hand froze and traveled down her body until she was a living ice sculpture.

'I'll handle her!" Iada said dramatically before porting over to Iris and poking her with a broom, "I think it's alright," Iada said and went to reach for the staff.
"Don't touch it!" Amelia yelled managing to get up and grab the staff away from Iada, "It's dangerous, don't ask me how but it is!" she shouted her hands shaking as she held the staff still glowing in her hands.

"Listen to her," Christian warned, standing defensively in front of Amelia, "If anyone knows anything about Iris' playtoys, it would be her own daughter. And besides, she wouldn't try anything. Not here; not with all of us standing around."
Kevin looked over at the next cell, as his sleepy eyes adjusted to the lack of light, "Ellen," he questioned, "Is that you?"

"Kev, is that you?" Ellen asked through a hole in the wall. even if she couldn't see him through the hole it was nice to hear a familier voice, "So I'm paying 45 dollars a night here becase I went to Orbitz, how about you?" she asked with a dry laugh. She was tired, too tired, her body had lost it's curviness, and she looked older then she could have aging naturally.

Kevin crawled to the hole, exhausted, "$39 on Priceline. Best thing Shatner ever did for me..."
"It's been a while," he said, smiling inately, "How have you been? Wait, thats a dumb question, I'll rephrase: How are you holding up?"

"When they let me use my powers great, but right now I feel like crap," Ellen said still as blunt as ever, "Now, just tired very tired, and I just was a BigMac, biggie size."

"I'd dropkick my mother for a Frosty..."
He looked around the open cell wall to the hallway. No guards, "Did Cole say anything to you?"
