Raphael nodded to the boy as he strapped on the breast plate and shoulder gaurds. His words weighed heavy. He reached for his elbow pads and knee gaurds, fastening them to his body while he chose the words. It was not until the last pad was in place that Raphael again spoke. "we all have a score against the big man, we will all be there in the end to face him. I am getting old, however I have no intention of falling to him. You will have your vengence, but stay with my daughter, protect her, help her rescue her friends. When that task is completed, join by my side and all of us will deliver the ending blow." Raphael had no illusions of immortality, he knew full well he would probably die by the hands of that maniac, but it was a chance he had to take, to secure the future for his children, for all of them. Raphael found his heavy greaves and put the boots on. He then found the gauntlets and face mask. The mask had an ear piece and built in comm network so he could talk to Jasmine and she could tell him from what direction the enemies were coming. He snapped everything in place before the rached back into the safe and pulled out the pistol and chainsword.

Amelia wiped away a few tears, glad she was turned away from everyone else to keep them from seeing her. Sometimes she hated being a telepathic, she had picked up everything that had been said. It was the most couragous thing she had ever heard, and for that she had an aching feeling in her heart for Christian.

Christian nodded his head in respect, "Thank you sir. I'll let you finish your prep. I need to do the same."
He bowed, and exited the room, and smiled through unsure eyes as he passed Amelia, heading to an empty room to clear his head. He stood in its midst, and took a deep breath, before slowly cracking joints and knuckles throughout his body, slowly building up more and more explosive kinetic energy withing his body. By this time, he was sure he could level a building with one well-placed hit.
You might wish on coming home to your loved ones, Christian sighed, but I will ensure I take Apocalypse to the grave with me!
He took to a corner, and sat in silence, awaiting the word to move out.

Raphael holstered both weapons and placed the extra ammo in the various pouches on the armour. He walked back up the stairs and put the hammer up between his shoulder blades on his back. Raphael had dressed in his scouting armour, it was light and allowed him more agility.
Raphael looked about the room to everyone around him, "the word is to move out, is everyone ready?"

Amelia waited a few minutes before enetering the empty room where Christian was. He was sitting in the corner as Amelia shut the door, "Christian," she said biting her lip trying to form words on what she wanted to say.

He looked up, "Amelia," his voice sounded confident, but his eyes looked unsure.
"To what do I owe this pleasure?"

"I heard what you were saying to my father," Amelia said walking up to Christian a few tears in her eyes, "I just wanted to say it's one of the most wonderful things anyone has ever said," she finished stoppin in front of him and looking at him with her dark purple eyes.

"You're crying," he noted, "don't. You're too pretty."
He looked to the floor, diverting his eyes to keep from intimidating her, "I've done alot of good things. I've blacked them out with the bad things that followed them. If you heard, then you know I will not be coming back from this fight."
He stood, and took a step toward her, "Don't stop me. I have nothig left except friends who spit in my name. I need to do something worth redeeming."

"Please don't say things like that," Amelia said leaning forward and clutching Christian's shirt and burying her head in his chest., "You've brought me back to my father and are freeing the slaves, in that not enough to redeem yourself?" she asked him.

Christian held her, "Apocalypse sought me out, Amelia, he wanted me to do his bidding. And when I had no where to go, I took his hand, instead of doing what I felt to be right. If I had thought things out then, I could have stopped this from happening. You could be happy with your family, my friends would still be breathing, and Apocalypse would NOT rule this world."
He hung his head, inadvertantly on hers, "I've done nothing to redeem myself..."

As Amelia felt Christian's head on her own she had to squeeze her eyes shut to keep from sobbing her eyes out, "What if you being with me makes me happy, that if this happened neither of us would have met each other. And I wouldn't be feeling what I do about you inside of me right now," she said her voice shaking a little.

Christian pulled himself back a little, unsure of what to do or say, "If I may be so bold, Amelia: What... exactly is it you feel?"
Christian could feel himself stirring. Within him, he could hear Ravage howling in pain.

"I don't know, I mean when I was back at the fortress when I'd see you I felt like someone was blowing warm air on me. But now it's like the warmness in from within me, and when I think something might happen to you, I feel like I might spilt in two in grief," Amelia said before blinking in realization, "Christian, I love you."

Raphael was standing in the dining area looking at his friends.
"comrades, tonight we repay our gracious benefactor for the kindness he has shown us, we pay him back in kind." A weak smile spread across his face and he looked at his son Mazarus.
Mazarus looked back at his father and then turned to Jasmine. He was jealous of Jasmine, she got to be with Raphael while Mazarus had to wait. It was better that way though.

Christians eyes widened in unabashed awe. The girl he spent most of his life protecting from harm and Apocalypse's would be assassins was the last person he would expect to care about him.
In his soul, Christian James could physically feel Ravage die.
"I won't lie by saying I don't care about you. I do, deeply. This past night has cemented that. But know this, Amelia, if I do die tonight, It's what I want."
He held her again, "and if thats what happens, knowing that I would die for you to spend your days with you family, I find more redeeming than any other fate."

Iada sat next to Mazarus and reckonized the look he gave Jasmine, it was often the look she gave Mazarus and Jasmine when they were talking together and leaving her out. She patted her friend's hand and murmured, "No sense in jealousy, Maz, we need to get the mission done with before we can squabble with each other again."

Mazarus looked at Iada and smiled. He knew he should be more serious but he just wanted to be a kid again.
"I know, but what am I supposed to do in the mean time, she got the better gig, its not like I can ignore that, but she is better at it that I."

"Please Christian, I beg you not to do this," Amelia said holding onto his shirt tighter, "I don't know what I'll do if you go through with this."

"What? So we have to go fight and do stealth stuff like that. There's reasons why your father does things like this, okay half the time we don't know, but he has reasons," Iada shrugged smirking a little bit, "We also get more action, so don't frown, we still get another chance on putting a hat on Apocalypse."

Christian debated it. Was it worth it? Was Amelia worth it?
Clouds of confusion flooded him. He was lost in a sea of his thoughts, when the words from a letter he recieved from Zeb after his death hit him like a rock:
Take care of yourself. Don’t mourn me, don’t worry. You’ll be fine.
He looked to the side, and then back into Amelia's eyes, "I can't rule it out. I won't turn my back on this if the oppurtunity arises."
He lifted her chin with his hand, "I appreciate your words. I can't repay your actions," he smiled sweetly, "But I won't go looking for it. That's the best I can do right now."
