Back when men fought against one another, sickness was caused by those who dealt magic, and women were considered fair folk. A war raged against two countries that bordered each other on the shores of the great ocean, the countries names were Deramus, and Nurofus. Once ruled peacefully by twin brothers who fought against one another for the heart of a beautiful sorceress.
The sorceress, a kind woman and saddened by the fighting, couldn't decided between the two brothers ran away to live in the mountains of Renret never to be seen again. The war raged on through generations, each country raiding and killing the other very slowly.

"Mara slow down!" Eliza managed to say pulling on the reins of the huge beast underneath her, "It's not the obstacle course, we're just going to the market!" she screamed ducking in time to miss a branch.
"But it feels so good to run, all those people at the academy want me to do is furl and unfurl my wings. Eliza we were both bred for excitement, battles, and adventure!"
"I know my friend, but no dragon can fly until the rider and the dragon has passed the King's adademy. Then we can have some fun," Eliza grinned leaning into the dragon saddle as Mara jumped the creek, "Whoa slow down there's someone walking on the road," eliza manged to yell before she was thrown over the Dragon's shoulder, neck, and head, hanging by her grip on the harness.
Mara let out a smokey chuckle as she looked at her rider hanging there.

He had been lost in his thoughts when he heard steps thundering through the trees to his left. Startled, he looked up just in time to see a dragon barrelling at him. To avoid being trampled, he pitched himself backwards. He barely avoided the creature's feet as he jumped, arching his back to flip himself heels over head. Hands assisting in this maneuver, he landed on his knees. Looking up at the creature with a pair of cold, navy blue eyes wordlessly, he stood and dusted off his squire's uniform.

"Great Mara you almost ran over one of the kings up and coming knights," Eliza said and the dragon let out another smokey chuckle as Eliza dropped to the ground to face the boy. Her armor clanked as she walked, she was one of the very few woman that had been chosen by a dragon to be a rider. In past history only three other women had been chosen and now Eliza was the fourth.
There had been a long standing rivalry between the Dragon Warriors, and the Kings Knight, every couple months pranks were played at one of the academy. But luckily for this Squire, Eliza had no prank spells on her mind. Infact her weapons a two long handled double edge axes were in her saddle.
"Hey need a ride somewhere?" Eliza asked shading the sun from her eyes and grinning at the boy, "I'm Eliza GoldenDragon," she added holding out her hand. No dragon was colored the same, thus the rider took on the dragon's color as their last name when the dragon chose the rider at birth.

Phoebe thanked the woman she had just bought the eggs from and began walking further into the market. It was a nice day and the product was especially good. Now she just needed to find some fresh bread. Running down to the market was always one of her favorite things to do. She loved the people, doing what they were best at and watching them interact with others. No matter what was going on in the world, there was always a certain amount of peace in the market.
"I'll take one loaf," Phoebe said to the bread maker, handing him the money to pay for it.

The boy stood proudly, staring at the woman with dead eyes. "Not from you, Lady Rider," He said cooly. His eyes flickered to the dragon; squires had to be careful when a rider's dragon was around. He didn't move, as the creature was blocking his path, but eyed the she-dragon warily.

"The boy acts as if I'm a beast."
"Now Mara, a squire wouldn't know anything about dragons," Eliza said patting the nose of the dragon affectionately. Suddenly Eliza's eyes narrowed as she looked at the sky. In the far distance she saw glowing circles coming towards the town, "Attack," she managed to whisper before she looked at the squire, "An attack!" she yelled and Mara threw Eliza onto her back.
"Come on!" Eliza yelled grabbing the guy by the collar and lifting him onto the spot behind her. Then Mara took off in the opposite direction of the town, "Mara turn back, they'll need help!"
"We'll be killed if we go that way. Those people are as good as dead," Mara growled and suddenly unfurled her wings and took off into the air.

The girl glared darkly from the shadows she was hidden in. It was more than the oppressive heat of summer that made her edge along the wall instead of walk the streets. Her dark, demon eyes made her an object of fear as much as hate and she wasn't ready to get run out of the village just yet. And when her red-on-black eyes didn't tell who she was, the diamond tattoos on the backs of her hands did. No one should be able to mistake her for a real person.
Midnight smoothed her dress, a tan leathery thing that fitted to her form around the hips, waist, and chest. It left off right above her breasts to reveal her white airy blouse. The skirts were split four ways to provide a wide range of protection as well as movement. The white underskirts floated through the splits before she smoothed them down. As usual, she would wait for twilight. It would be then that most people might not notice the dark eyes and tattooed hands, but before the fire that lit her way at night started to glow from her red irises. And if they still noticed... she fingered one of the long thin blades that was tucked carefully in the top of her pack. She had never felt like a demon, but sometimes she knew what she had done belonged it hell, like all the priests had told her. Everyone believed she was satan spawn, it was hard to doubt what everyone else believed.
Suddenly she noticed the glowing rings forming in the sky. What on earth...?
