(Prelude) Raymond Baxter has technically been dead for more than 20 years...at least the his mind has. As he began to lose control of his powers, the nanophages gained more power over him. Leading in the subsequent Bayville University slaughter of 2010. Over 50 people where killed when the Dreadnought launched a Potemkin Blast into a occupied dorm all because a the Machine suspected a Brotherhood member was there.
Raymond Baxter was brought up on charges and was to die by lethal injection. After plea bargaining and numerous appeals , Charles Xavier organized a team of X-men to free him making him a wanted fugitive.
A detachment of S.H.E.I.L.D and the 1st Armored Division raided the mansion and attempted to capture the mutant. After 40 long bloody hours with fatalites on both sides the unthinkable happened. The Collective Machine totally subsumed and gained control over Raymond Baxter. The Dreadnought promptly destroyed the Task Force and even a few students of the Institute. Afterwards it overided several military vehicles and attacked several key military installations gaining sterngth and momentum.
Finally in a march on Washington it slaugthered Congress and publicy killed the President. Proclaiming itself the Supreme Dictator.
Now a stationary sole command unit the Dreadnougt's forces which include Sentinels infused with nanophages and android troops hunt down the members of human and mutant resistance..from it's base in the Pentagon.

ok...
If you want to take part in this as sort of a dystopian nightmare thread you can. Here are the facts.
1) Humans and mutants alike in the U.S are being closly monitored by the agents of the Dreadnought.
2) Several citites have been leveled including Chicago, Atlanta, St. Louis, and most of Bayville. These areas are not regularly monitored because it is believed that the inhabitants are either dead or inaccessible.
3) Several mutants and humans who oppose the Dreadnought are "reconstituted" (ripped apart and used to create the android troops known as Chimeras)
4) If you don't like the idea let me know.

(Chapter One)
Inside the Pentagon, the only undamaged building in the ruination of Washington D.C., a huge cthuloid machine stood wires, tentacles and arms constructed of metal waved in the air slowly perfoming menial task as their master, also part of the machine observed various reports from the Death camps.
"The harvest is going nicely. Increase the death rate of mutants in Bayville, Las Vegas and Los Angeles by 40%"

In Bayville, towering black and green Sentinels stood amongest the destroyed skyline like tall heathen gods. The mall had been converted into a death camp, a harvesting station to extract gentic material to build more nanophages. Many members of the X-men, Brotherhood, Elementals, Hellfire Club, and regular human society met there ends here. All in the name of productivity.
