"They kids are outta their minds! Back in my day, we knew the common good and we fought for it. These kids are fighting against it! What they need is good solid punishment!" The woman was in a costume of a superhero, still trying to hide her identity, even in this meeting. But puffs of white hair and wrinkles in her skin told that she was way past her prime. The old heros had long since retired, but after having been active in the world for so long, they could not stop interfering. The Legue of Oldies, as the kids called them. They still stuck their noses into every corner and had meetings all the time where they would wear their costumes, recounting the glory days and harping on the children. "All they do is cause trouble!"
Midnight sighed softly and rested her head against her hand. She hadn't been a superhero, but since her child, Jesse, was a mutant, the Oldies expected him to be one, instead of getting in trouble all the time like he did. She glanced at her watch and then at the other adults who were braving the storm of ancient fury.
"Just tune it out," came a soft voice from besides her. Laura Kinney looked far too young to have a daughter old enough to get in trouble, but supposedly her healing factor had something to do with it. X-23 gave Midnight a small smile of shared punishment.
"...we want to be in control of the children's training. You all are soft!" a gnarled old hero waved his cane at them. The jist of the meeting was that the children should be given into custody of the old hero's for a month and it would do them good. They would learn responsibility!
An old fellow in a rather pathetic looking costume shuffled to his feet in the corner and, muttering something about too much prune juice, excused himself. What the other people didn't know was that as soon as this old man got out of the house, he ran unsteadily behind a shed and there his shrivled body softened into youth, leaving a 17-year-old with shaggy blond hair and red-on-black eyes in a thrown-together costume. "Bad news..." Jesse said to the waiting group of teenagers. "They want to throw us all into custody of the Oldies. And are parents agreed!"
"What!?" yelled a 14-year-old girl with long black hair with a white streak down it. Jasmine was shushed by several others and continued in a slightly subdued voice. "How could my mom do this to me?" she moaned.
"The meeting has been going on for two hours, most of it was the Oldies talking their heads off and waving canes at our 'rents. After that, I think they would agree to anything!" Jesse pulled off the costume, under which his six-pack was revealed as well as his boxers. He leaned down to grab his jeans and t-shirt, hoping the blush didn't show. He was the only one who could spy on the Oldies at this point, at least until Jazz learned her powers... if she ever learned her powers. Right now she had burst into flame and the others were trying to calm her down so that they wouldn't get spotted. Emberassment kept the flame going, so he was fully dressed by the time she was a girl again.
