Hannah took little time to get half-way through the pie and ice cream. She couldn't understand why she had never been given pie before, it was really good. But, of course, she dismissed the question mentally, simply enjoying the pie she had in front of her.

"Do you want more?" Jean asked as Hannah neared the end of her pie and ice cream. The girl ate like she hadn't eaten in days and that worried Jean. She didn't want to feed her too much, fearing she might throw it all up later.

Hannah thought about it as she finished her pie and ice cream. She frowned a bit as she set her fork down. As nice as the idea sounded, she was too tired. Like most things, she hadn't had a proper night's sleep in at least a week. The child was operating on about five hours of sleep, total.
((Sorry, I won't be able to reply until the 18th or 19th. I have a camping trip.))

Jean could feel the fact that she was tired and thought for a moment. "How about some sleep instead? We don't have a room for you just yet, but you can sleep in my bed for now, if you want," Jean offered. She just wanted to make sure that Hannah was as comfortable as possible.

At least Hannah recognized what sleeping in a bed was like. She brightened and nodded. And then she tensed up at the sound of footsteps and voices approaching the kitchen. Sure, it was just a couple of students wanting something to eat, but she didn't know any better.

Jean knew it was time to head upstairs when the other students began walking in. "Come on sweetie, they're just hungry like you." Jean held out her hand for Hannah to take. "Hey, guys," Jean said to the two boys that walked into the kitchen. "There is some spaghetti on the stove if you want it."

The two boys smiled and greeted Jean, not noticing the terrified little girl who scurried over to Jean's side. She seemed to shrink in their prescence, pressing her small body against Jean's leg. She really was small for her age, not even coming up above Jean's waist.

Jean moved Hannah out of the kitchen as quickly as she could and led her upstairs to her room. It wasn't anything special, but her bed was soft and warm and Jean knew Hannah would like it. She opened the door and ushered Hannah inside so she could shut the door before any students came by wanting to talk.
"Here we are, Hannah. This is my room," she told the small girl.

Hannah gazed at the bed for a moment, frowning and then looked up at Jean. She didn't want to get the bed dirty and she was certainly anything but clean. "Don't wanna get bed dirty." She mumbled, brow furrowed uncertainly. The young girl was happy to be away from other people, because she felt much safer with Jean alone.

"Oh, sweetie I don't care if you get the bed dirty, I can easily wash the sheets. But if you feel that strongly about it, then I can fix you a bath or you can take a shower. I have plenty of towels and soaps that you can use. Good smelling soaps like Strawberries and cream or vanilla. It's all up to you, but just know that I don't care about you getting the bed dirty." Jean told her.

Hannah fell silent and then happily climbed onto the bed, climbing under the sheets. The child vanished under the covers and there was moving as she curled up much like a cat. She looked like little more than a pillow under the covers.
