((Yup, Matrix!))
"You thought I would be dead?" Chase grinned. "Oh sure, I got a few bruises, but you are the one who got crushed and then thrown into the wall." Leaning forward, he locked his arms and rested his hands on the edge of the cot. Despite the grin, he was still worried. Speaking to the man, he said, "What will the effects be, if she is not completely healed?"

"Hard to say, magical users bodies heal in different ways. But Iris had ribs broken a few punctured her lungs. Not to mention other bone fractures all over her body. Eventually she'll heal all the way, that's how magic does, but until then she'll have trouble walking, anything that increases her heartbeat or breathing, and many other things," the man said.
Iris winced and managed a brave smile so Chase wouldn't worry as much, "Come on don't worry about me," she said softly wishing she could reach up and touch Chase's face, 'I'll get through this, I might not be as pretty or strong as I was, but I'll survive."

"Yeah, didn't you hear the man? You'll heal right up eventually," Chase smiled, feeling like she was the one who needed encouragement. He reached out and softly squeezed her hand. His eyes darted back to the man and he whispered, "Where are the damn doctors?"

"You saw the hallway, it extends forever, they could be anywhere," the man said his voice going sharp, "She's stable now connected to my life energy.
"Now, Grevt," Iris said gently gaining some feeling in her fingers as Chase squeezed her hand, "Chase is not use to these types of things be patient with him and he'll learn," she said before coughing a little and closing her eyes for a moment and then opening them again, "Ever want to see a real unicorn Chase?" she asked changing the subject.

"That doesn't sound like the most efficiant building design," Chase remarked, his voice sarcastic. "Can't you magic people teleport or something like that?" So far this neutral plane wasn't making much sense. He wasn't sure what he had expected though. Giving a smirk at Iris, "Yeah, I'll learn," he replied using the same sarcastic voice. Then he said, "I never even learned what a unicorn was until I was in high school. What, they're real?"

"Of course," Iris said looking up as a group of mismatched Guardians came into the room, she reconized most of them as healers and doctors and smiled, "There aren't anymore unicorns where we live, but here in the Neutral Plane several of them are Guardians. As soon as I heal a little I'll introduce you to them," she said wincing in pain as the healers began running energy through her body and the doctors started making assesments on what was wrong with her, 'You might want to go, this could take a while," she said gritting her teeth in pain.

"Yeah, I could walk down the hallway, but that would take a while too," he winked at her, wincing along with her pain. He was glad he hadn't asked the other question, 'Do unicorns taste good?' It might be offesive in this place. Not like that was something he ever really worried about. "Nah, I think I'll stay here." He stood up and moved to over to lean against the wall, fingering the braided bracelet still around his wrist.

Iris bit her lip as the pain sheared through her body, but refused to cry out. She hated being weak, and she hated other people worrying over her. So she closed her eyes and tried to block the overwelming pain. Different healing eneries ran through her body mending the worst of her wounds, reattaching her ribs healing them until they were only fractured, healing her lungs enough that she could breath. along with mending her broken leg enough so a cast could go on it.
Iris lost track of time, but she knew it had been at least a few hours and looked around the room to see if Chase was around. she had to resist the urge to go to sleep. But she didn't, she wanted to talk to Chase once more before she rested. The healers and doctors were almost done, though still injured and she'd be healing even more for the next six months. She'd live, and that's all that mattered.

Chase stirred in his corner, raising his head and blinking his eyes sleepily. "Hey there," he whispered as he stood up. "'Bout time to take your own nap, huh?" Carefully, he brushed some of her long blond hair out of her face. "You need sleep."

Iris felt her throat choke up her own hand slowly reaching up and taking Chase's hand, she suddenly felt tears coming to her eyes, "Chase," she croaked trying to put her feelings into her words. Maybe she was tired and that made her over emotional but something about Chase willing to stay nearby this entire time struck a chord within her, "Chase, I," but Iris never got those words out, whatever it was she was going to say, exhaustion had finally taken over her and she fell asleep instantly.
The man, who was talking to the healers and doctors while this was going on turned back to Chase, "You may take her home, make sure she rests and heals, Cherpie will make you a portal," he said and then added gruffly, "And take care of her, she tries to be strong, but she can be hurt like anyone else."
"Come on I taint got all day," Cherpie said from the doorway, 'Pick her up and let's go!"

His finger's quickly found their way to the side of her throat, making note there was a pulse. He expected there to be one, but he just wanted to make sure. She had slipped into an exhausted sleep. "Alright already," he muttered to the surrounding people. "You magic people are sure pushy," he said, but gently picked Iris up in his arms and headed over to the open portal. He knew she thought she was stronger than she was and he knew he was going to have to be a nursemaid of some sort to her. He expected half of that would entail keeping her from doing stuff that she couldn't do in her condition but thought she could anyway. No, she didn't think she was stronger than she was, her mind was stronger than her body. She was strong, just not quite able to bear it physically. And for some reason, the job of nursemaid didn't seem to phase him. Bracing himself, he stepped through the portal, making note that the Neutral Zone did not seem like the best place for a vacation.

“Survive dis? I can survive, but ya makin da wrong decision doin wuh ya doin ellen.” TK said.
TK looked around for a short time; the building was beginning to collapse his mission he had failed. He quickly jumped through a wall to avoid the building from collapsing on him.
He looked for Iris an the others as TK was confused and a little tired from his battle with ellen.

Ellen watched TK make a run for it, her eyes filled with sadness, 'That's the problem, I know every little thing I do, and yet I do it anyway," she said and gritted her teeth and made a run for it to the top of the lab. As she reenter the outdoors she looked around at the carnage.
Iada looked around as the structure of the lab rumbled around her and Shrapnel, "We'd better beat it love," she told Shrapnel wrapping her arms around him and porting the both of them out of the lab.

Sinister smiled from above where he hovered in midair. Looking down at the destruction he had set into motion, he let out a laugh only a maniacal doctor could emit. "Sinister to all Marauders," he smirked into the headset, "We're leaving, kill any survivors you can on the way back to the pods."
"Move it, TK," Cole yelled as the behemoth of a man came bursting through what was soon rubble, "This bird is ready for dust-off, and everyone on board is in need of medical attention and we need to go!"
Onslaught watched from across the courtyard as the X-Men evacuated. After they returned home, he decided, a quick strike to the Xavier Estate would be the final crushing blow needed to wipe them from the earth.

"Come on old girl, Sinister will be rightly pissed if we don't take you home," Ellen said picking Jo up and slinging the girl over her shoulder and heading for Jo's pod. As she walked Ellen watched at the X-Men made a run for it and her eyes lingered on Cole and sadnees filled her, she really did miss him.

Cole stepped onto the entry dock of the jet, hand on the railing, waiting for TK. Across the way, he spotted Ellen, staring at him. For a second he was filled with anger.
That quickly passed into hurt, and he began to question himself. Was it his fault she had left?
He shook his head, and gave her a pained, yet angy glare, then boarded the Blackbird.

Chase stepped out of the portal and into the Blackbird, Iris still cradeled in his arms. "Let's get out of here," he said.
Damaris reached out and touched the metal ball, sliding back through it. Her metal skin flowed back into the ball and she found herself inside it, in only her uniform waiting for the ball to take off. If Shrapnal could not fly them off, she could fly herself.

TK heard the orders of Cole and speedily made his way onto the blackbird ready to take off.
TK sat in his chair and strapped up quickly. “Lets go mane.” TK said sounding worn out.
