Razor Hawk was about to settle in for the night after a long day's hunting. She flew to her favorite tree and sat where four branches grew close together. It was almost like a recliner that seem to be there just for her. It also had a great view of the forest floor; excellent for spotting prey or "intruders."
It was around twilight; only a few rays of the sun shone in the night sky. Surprisingly just before she fell asleep she saw slight shadows on the forest floor. Slightly startled she missed her footing an fell...

Ferra mumbled a few adjectives as she walked through the forest. She had split up with Kurt about a half hour ago, they were out here in the middle of no where searching for a mutant. Now it was dark and Ferra could barely see two feet in front of her, but didn't want to have to waste her flashlight batteries yet. It was only her mutant abilities of being able to talk to the after life that kept her going. That's when she heard a commotion, Ferra looked over towards it, drawing her flashlight from her belt...she sent one of the spirits forth to check it out before she turned on the light.

Jo's eyes went large as the mutant that Sinister had sent her to find had fallen out of the tree. Without hesitation Jo began running and her body adjusted to going speeds as fast as Quick Silver, "Whoa," Jo said catching the girl right before she hit the ground, "Lovely evening isn't it?" she asked the girl.

"Jeez..." Zeb muttered, leaning on a tree. "Bit of a klutz, there, aren't you, sweetie?" He said with a knowing smirk. He lifted a hand to adjust the glasses on his face, then to flip up the collar on his trenchcoat. It was chilly out; he had always been cold natured, anyways.

Trouble One of the spirits hissed in Ferra's ear. She had gotten closer, notcing Jo and Zeb. Bad vibe, bad vibe. She didn't need the ghost telling her that.
"Kurt, you better get over here," She said in her comm link, "we've got company." Ferra stepped out from the trees, ready for anything even if her partner didn't show up for backup.

Just about the same instant the girl caught her, Razor Hawk jumped on the nearest tree trunck and used her adimantium claws to climb out of their reach. Opening her wings wide, threateningly, hoping they would run away from her. "Who are you people?!" she yelled in a harsh voice, both angry and scared.

Zeb nearly laughed, but controlled himself due to a feeling of foreboding that swept over him. Instinctively, he scanned the area. With a smirk, he mentally contacted Jo. /Tread lightly, my dear. We have company of the Xavier's kind./

/Figures,/ Jo thought back to Zeb and sighed, "My name is Josephine, please call me Jo, our leader sent us out here to help you. You see we're mutants just like you," she said looking up in the tree before sprouting wings herself and flying up into the tree across from the girl and settling on a branch, "We don't want to hurt you, in fact we want to protect you from people who do."

Not really trusting of those who come at night in search of her, she growled, "I doubt it, besides, I can take care of myself. Now, if you don't mind, Leave Me Alone!"
At that moment she sprang and hung on to the next tree, eying both of the intruders. For some reason, even though they acted nice, she had a sense that trhey weren't.

Jo nodded and stayed where she was and looked into the girl's eyes with her own pale ones, "Yes you can take care of yourself, but don't you want a place to call home? Some place where you can be accepted, even loved?" Jo asked looking at the girl with sad eyes.

Deep inside Razor Hawk wanted what Jo was saying, yearned for it, but to them she said, "This forest is my home. I'm protected here. I know nothing of your leader, so your words mean nothing to me. People can say anything they want, whether it's true or false. My life, bedore I came here was mainly made up of deception and cruelty." At that moment she looked around with reverence, "But, the forest, or the animals never lie. It either is, or it isn't. It is all truth here."

Jo shook her head, "I wish we could leave you in peace, but this forest will no longer protect you. It's one of the many that will be destoryed for housing developement in the next few days," she said revealing the truth. Well actually a couple calls by Sinister had secured the demolistion of the forest, but that was another story, "When we found out that you were living here, we could just leave your here to be hurt when they torn down the forest. We really want to help you, please let us," Jo said biting her lip.

No longer scared but furious, she looked at Jo and replied, "I hope you aren't one of the bad guys you are talking about. Because, if you were, you won't be leaving here alive. You have shown me nothing to prove that you're on my side. And, as for the Demolishing team, when they come, I'll do a little demolishing of my own."

Jo shook her head, "We overhead reports that they knew that you were in here, which means they have all the percautions set up. And no we're not the badguys, we're just trying to stick together and survive in this world."

Knowing she was speaking the truth, Razor Halk sighed, " Fine. I'll go with you, but if you have lied to me, I'll make you regret it. So where is this leader of yours?"

Through out this whole exchange, Ferra had stayed quiet. Jo and Zeb...Zeb's name sounded to familar. Something Ray had said, yup bad guy. Ferra made a mental note. Things needed to change, if they took Razor Hawk...Ferra would have failed. Failing a mission didn't work for her.
Kurts teleportation skills were a little off. He missed Ferra and ended up right in the middle of Razor Hawk and the other two. "Damn," He muttered. He glanced over at Jo and Zeb, before looking at Razor Hawk. The slight feeling that he missed something was certain.
