((Cont. from 'The Calm Before'))
Beast rushed Jean into the infirmary, followed by the healer for the school, Allen Reynolds. Allen, also known as Restore, easily healed the lacerations and the punctured lung. The only thing he couldn't do was fix bone. The ribs would have to heal on their own. He couldn't heal the bruising either. Along with the broken ribs, Jean would need a blood transfusion to make up for her blood loss.
When they had taken Jean into the infirmary, Hannah had stayed outside the door, not sure what to do. Of course, she hadn't expected her little sister to push her against the wall and knock her out cold with chloroform. So Hannah was carried into the infirmary by Magma in her fireform. From there, she was strapped down to one of the beds, a power inhibitor placed on her right wrist.

Scott felt like he was hyperventilating as he ran down to the infirmary. He had gotten the call from Hank that something had happened to Jean and that he needed to get to the school immediately. Scott had asked right away what was wrong, but Hank told him nothing, just saying he needed to get down there now. All he had known was that Jean had been helping out a student who needed her and had canceled dinner. A couple hours later he was hearing something was wrong.
"Hank, where is she?" Scott asked when he saw the older man. Hank pointed to a room and Scott rushed inside, finding Jean lying on a bed unconsciouses. "Oh, god what happened?" He asked as he walked to her side. Hank gave a quick explanation, but he didn't know much either.
"One of the girl's powers have taken control of her. We have her contained for right now, until we can figure out what to do. It seems she attacked Jean. Restore healed a punctured lung and lacerations on her body, but she had four broken ribs and a lot of bruising, which you can see. She's in a coma right now and it's hard to tell when she'll come out." Scott felt tears coming to his eyes and Hank placed a hand on his shoulder. "Make her want to come out, Scott. She needs you right now."

Hannah was panicking. She could only think of one thing. Escape. She glared down at the power inhibitor on her wrist, trying to find a flaw. Everything had a flaw or some weakness of some sort. She knew that she had done horrible things, but she had to get out of the institute before it happened again. The chloroform had worn off a couple of minutes ago, but she didn't know who had knocked her out, though she vaguely remembered a flash of brown hair that looked oddly like her sister's.

Jean was surrounded by darkness. She couldn't remember what had happened or why she was there, but she felt like she was far away from where she should be. Everything was fuzzy and her body felt numb. She could hear Scott's voice, but she couldn't understand what he was saying to her and she didn't know where he was. Then she remembered, Hannah. She had lost control and attacked Jean. There had been pain, blood, and then darkness. That was where she was now. In the darkness, but she couldn't get out.

As Hannah attempted to get the inhibitor off, she froze, spotting the blood on her hands and shirt. Jean's blood. There really wasn't much Hannah could do at the moment about the inhibitor or the blood staining her hands and clothes. Even as she lay there on the table she felt the feral personality inside of her starting to emerge again. It wanted out almost as much as she wanted to get out of the institute, if not more so.

Scott sat watching Jean, looking at the machines she was hooked up to every once in a while. He didn't know what to do, so he talked. He just ran his mouth about anything and everything. About how much he loved her, about how much he had missed her, even about what he planned for their future. He wanted to marry her and have kids. A couple little Jean and Scott's running around sounded like a good idea to him. Eventually he ran out of stuff to say so he sat there watching her. Panic rose when her heartbeat rapidly picked up and the machine started to beep.
"Jean? What's happening?" Scott ran to the door and threw it open. "Hello? Anyone? Someone please help!" Scott ran down the hallway looking for someone to help.

Beast and Restore quickly hurried into the room, examining everything hooked up to Jean, all the screens and clipboards, et cetera.
Hannah heard the machine go wild. The teen closed her eyes, trying to keep herself under control. She was so in for it. Her guilt refused to wane, if anything it just kept escalating. Along with that, the cruel creature inside of her kept trying to gently, for now, take control. Apparently, since she was too weak from the last time to really fight it off this time, the animal thought gentle persuasion would be the best tactic.

Scott stood just inside the door as they worked on Jean. He clenched his fist in anger that this had happened to her, to them. He didn't want to lose her, he couldn't lose her.
"Scott we need you to leave for a little while," Hank told Scott as he ushered him out of the room. Scott resisted, but finally gave in a stood outside the door and watched it shut. So he began to pace the hallway, that is until he saw Hannah restrained on a table in a room close to Jean's. He was confused. Why was Hannah chained up? He opened the door and walked inside.
"Hannah? Why are you restrained?" Scott asked as he made his way inside.

Scott was there? When did Scott arrive? Hannah was confused but she brushed it off as a question to ask later. Okay, and since he was there, didn't he know who had attacked Jean? She would have thought he'd be furious with her. Hannah glanced down at the blood on her shirt and then back up to Scott, trying to figure out what to say. What was she supposed to say, 'Hey I attacked the girl we all know you love?'. She shook the thought away, her green eyes studying Scott curiously. "You...you have seen Jean, right? I mean, you know what happened?"

"Yeah, Hank is in there working on her right now," Scott whispered. "Were you the one who helped her? Who sent out the distress signal? Is that what all the blood is from?" Scott thought for a moment she might have been the one to attack, but Hannah had always been so sweet. She never could have done something like that to Jean.

He didn't know...or didn't want to know. Either way.... Hannah looked at Scott with a calculating gaze. Her guilt just kept getting higher and higher, pretty much sending her spiraling down in the chaos that was her mind. So she decided to tell the truth. "Yes, I sent out the distress signal. And yes that's where the blood is from...partly." The teenager said slowly, she bit her lip slightly. She waited for him to get the actual conclusion by himself.
Hannah felt tears threateningly prickling at the corners off her eyes as she laid her head back, staring at the ceiling miserably. Her powers had only gotten that out of control once, and then she had been under the hypnotic control of another mutant, which pretty much killed all her self-control and restraint. On that occasion, she had tried to kill her entire squadron in her dragon morph. That had been the first time she ever used that morph.

Partly? What did she mean by that? Then it hit him, like a ton of bricks. "You? You attacked her? Why? How could you do that? Jean loved you like family, she took care of you when you first came. How could you come so close to killing her? She could still die! How could you?!" Scott yelled at Hannah. He wanted to hurt her, like she had hurt Jean.

Hannah flinched, shrinking back as much as she could, before feeling that same raging voice in her head that had taken over. 'You don't have to take this. He's no threat. Hand over control-' The cool, deadly voice purred in her mind. 'Shut-up.' Was all that she thought back. However, instead of actually telling him what happened, she just felt a boiling anger start in her stomach, rising rapidly through her body. Her eyes glowed red again, narrowing furiously.

Scott was too angry himself to notice Hannah. He began pacing near the door and shaking his head. Finally he stopped and stood completely still, not looking at Hannah but speaking directly to her. "You'd better pray to whatever you believe in that she doesn't die. I'll make sure you are thrown away forever if she does." With that he headed for the door.

"I'd like to see you try." She said in that same voice that was not her own as he exited. It was eerie, lower and cold. Her eyes flashed angrily before she calmed herself down. Jean wouldn't die, she knew that much. She was too strong to possibly die. Besides, Hannah wanted, no, needed her to live. If Jean died, Scott would try to kill Hannah or something. Nightshadow would finally give up all control and then go after Scott for daring to threaten her.
She sighed and closed her now green eyes again, trying to figure out some kind of plan. Hannah wasn't as close to Scott as she was to Jean. Even though Scott had been one of the people to rescue her from the hellhole she called home. The teenager sighed, forcing back tears. What had she done?

Scott paused when she responded, but still wouldn't look at her. "Don't make me do what I don't want to do, Hannah. You're a friend and that makes me loyal to you, but if Jean dies, all friendships are off. I will protect her and myself at all cost. Please don't let it come to that." And with that he left. He headed down the hall to where Hank and the young man were standing outside discussing Jean.
"She's stable for now," Hank told Scott.
"What do you mean, for now?"
"We don't know, Scott. It seems like she's fighting hard to get somewhere, but it doesn't look like it's out of the coma. We just don't know Scott." Hank patted his shoulder and he and Restore walked away.

So, what the heck was up with Jean? Why wasn't she coming out of the coma? It didn't make any sense. Hannah bitterly wondered where Amara and Willow were. They might've been told to stay away in case Hannah's powers got the best of her and she tried to coerce them into letting her out of the restraints.
It was strange how things worked out. First Damien was the bad guy from Amara's homeland, then Chris was the bad guy for becoming a murderer and almost rapist, and now it was Hannah who was bad, for attacking Jean. And it had all started with a single boy who came from Brazil to try and force Amara to marry him.

Scott walked into the room and sat down in a chair and watched Jean. He was tired and lost. He wished he could do something, but he had no idea what. He wished someone had some solid answers for him, but Hank hadn't given any solid answers. So now he would wait. Wait for Jean to wake up and wait for the Hannah situation to be resolved. He didn't want her to get hurt, but if something went wrong with Jean, he couldn't promise that he wouldn't hurt her.

Click. Hannah's eyes glittered gleefully as the inhibitor became loose enough that if ahe wanted to, she could shake it off. A couple of pickpocketing skills helped her, though she hadn't used them for a while, as in a couple of years. Now, when she knew that she was home free, she could shake the device on her wrist off, break the restraints, and scurry away. Far away.

((Hey, welcome back! Hope your vacation was good))
Jean felt like she was in danger. But maybe it wasn't her maybe it was someone else. She could just feel the dread rising in her chest. She needed to wake up. She needed to tell someone of the coming danger. She had to stop it. The only problem was that she couldn't wake up. She wanted too so badly, but she was so tired from trying to live that now she just wanted to sleep. And so her subconsciouses would do. Jean was not in control at the moment, and unfortunately for everyone else that meant they couldn't be warned.
