"That sounds wonderful," Iris said her words even more slurred and she giggled.
The old woman looked up in surpise and fright at the face of Raphael, but then by the look of the water-logged woman with him her features softened. She ran and got blankets and without warning shoved Raphael out of the way and began stripping Iris of her wet clothing.
"Heard the crash and saw the dragon, what happened? Put some more wood on the fire and get the stove burning red," the old woman said to Raphael pointing to the pile of wood next to the stove.

Raphael put more wood on the fire, and turned away as Iris was stripped of her wet clothes. He was used to the cold, but the water had taken its toll even on him.
"wrong place at the wrong time" was all that Raphael said as he as he went to the door to get more wood while Iris was being tended to. He had no shirt on and his pants were soaked, but Raphael was trying to be polite.

The woman rolled her eyes at Raphael trying to be polite, "She'll be fine once she gets warm, luckily you didn't wait long to get her here. I have extra clothing in my room, my ex-husbands clothes are there too take what you want," the woman said motioning to the room next to the living room.
Iris felt her blood begin to warm again, she opened her eyes still shivering. An old woman looked down at her and smiled. Iris smiled back putting two and two together. The woman threw a blanket over Iris as she sat up.
"There deary nothing like a swim to wake you up," the old woman said.

Raphael came back in carrying some wood, the cold did not bother him, and as long as there was physical activity then he would be fine. Raphael set down the fire wood in the basket near the fire place. Raphael went into the back room with his water proof bag. He pulled out his unique clothing. He pulled on the concrete grey pants and shirt, pulling on the dry socks and his combat boots. Raphael had his armour in there as well, but did not wear it. He walked back out into the room.
"are you alright Iris, we cannot stay long, we need to get moving as soon as we can."

"I'll be fine," Iris said standing up with the blanket drapped around her, and then she realized the only thing she was wearing was the blanket and blushed.
"Here deary," the old woman said handing Iris a pair of sweat pants and a faded flannel shirt. Iris quickly put them on under the blanket, "Thank you," she said to the woman, "I think we should leave in my mode of transportation," she said to Raphael.

"If we must, but fly low, the longer we stay below the tree line the less likely they are to find us." Raphael had turned around again as Iris had changed, even though it was under the blanket, it was still out of respect. He pulled out a surcoat from his bag and handed it to Iris. He had lost his knife and his pistol, but he had a few toys in the bag still.
"when ever you are ready."

"Thank you so much," Iris said to the small squat woman, strange she seemed familier.
"No problem lassie, you'll return the favor one of these days," the woman said ushering them to the door.
"Alright Raphael," Iris said as they stepped outside and pulling her broom from the space pocket. She climbed on it and waited for Raphael, "I'm guess we have about five miles to the safehouse, so we keep to the trees and pray we're not seen."

"head west, I have another spot in mind, unless of course you have your heart set on seeing this healer of yours who is still on the other side of that river." Raphael said, disliking the idea of open spaces and being seen and possibly picked off. Speed was not the issue, it was the issue of cover. Raphael climbed on the broom, but he was not exactly happy about it.
"the decision is yours."

Iris looked back at him and sighed, "I'm sure you know best," she said lifting her legs off the ground and taking off and heading West. There was one thing she knew about Raphael and he usually had a reason for suggesting something, and it was best to follow him.
Iris murmured a spell under her breath and to the naked eye they wouldn't be seen.

Raphael had a place out west, not terribly far from where they were, some place that no one would have figured to look. Once long ago as an act of hydra Raphael had been asked to go there and do his task. The building was now abandoned, but it would be a good place to spend the night and get his bearings so they could travel on to another location the next day. The spot was also close to a train station and a bus station so they could travel pretty well under the guise of public transportation. As was his creedo, to be conspicuous is to be invisivible while out in the open, to be the overlooked.

Iris flew close to the water, she shivered a little at the possible death it could have held for her and once again place her free arm on Raphael's arm that was around her waist. They cleared the river and Iris looked down as they passed over the bus and train station, "Are we close?" she asked.

"Yes, not far." Raphael pointed to an abaondoned building up ahead. It was decrepid, but the building was not what Raphael was interested in. "Head for the underground parking structure."

"Alright," Iris said with a little grin on her face as she dived suddenly taking the broom through the underground parking lot. She slowed down and looked around, "Now where?" she asked glancing back at Raphael.

"Head down to the second level and then it is one by foot." Raphael said, remembering the facility and what he had been called to do there. the memories began to flood back, and Raphael gripped Iris' waist a little tighter. Long ago Hydra had deemed the occupants of the underground bunker hidden by the building as a threat, raphael had not known why, nor had he questioned. It had been a facility similar to that of hydras, but not nearly to the stage of having a living product, and it was Raphael's assignement to kill the people and destroy the research. Raphael had liked the idea, one x23 was enough, another would have been too much, Raphael would be helping this subject before it even existed, it was better that way.

Iris felt Raphael's grip on her waist and frowned. Even if she didn't read his mind she could tell that something about this place was in his past, and he didn't like it. She followed his instructions and flew down the stairs to the second level and stopped. She looked back at Raphael and opened her mouth to say something to him but stopped.
Somehow she had a feeling he didn't feel like talking.

Raphael dismounted from the broom and helped Iris down. He kneeled down on the pavement as if he were looking for something. He got up quikly and headed around the corner and to the far side of the garage from the stairs. "come on, it will be safer down here." There was a small grate, just big enough for a person to fit down. The cage was still off of the hole. Raphael dropped down the hole, cracking a glow stick out of his bag and and handed one up to Iris as he began to make his way down a ventilation duct towards a facility.

Iris jumped down the ventilation duct and walked behind Raphael, it spooked her a little. She was picking up strange vibes from this place. Something about torture, and pain, was all she could pick up. She shook off the feelings and reach forward for Raphael's hand and lifted her other hand to shed more light in the small tunnel.

Raphael took the hand gingerly, and lead the way down, there was an opening up ahead and Raphael had to warn Iris to slow down, he didn't want to get pushed down a hole.
"up ahead is where we drop down into the facility, there should be a reserve powere somewhere and we can stay there for the night." Raphael walked up to the hole slowly, and dropped his glow stick down it, a little longer than he remembered, the first step is always the big one. He dropped down and it had been a longer fall than he remembered, and he had to buckle his knees and roll to avoid damaging something.
Raphael stood up again and held out his arms to catch Iris.

Iris closed her eyes and jumped, halfway wanted to call for her broom, but luckly the half that won over let Raphael catch her. Her breath was a little haggard as she stood there, but it would still in a moment. Free falling was always scarier then flying on a rune treated broomstick.

Raphael set Iris down gently. "come on, I believe that the back up power should be out this door, to the left and at the end of the corridor. Raphael broke another glowstick and poked his head out the door. There were no bodies, but there was evidence of the fighting barely visible in the low light. Raphael was thankful that Iris would not have to see what he had done. In the control room Raphael felt around the south wall for a switch and when he found it some of the lights came back on. The generator would last maybe two days if they were lucky and they would only stay a day.
"Well, that makes it a little more like home then doesn't it. Now, where was that bunk room?" Raphael was thinking out loud, a habit he had picked up rescently, something he only ever did when he was around people and wanted to include them in things.
"should be out this door and to the right." Raphael said pointing to another door besides the one they had entered through.
