The light filtering in from the small slit that was suppose to be a window burned Ellen's cakey eyes. Tiredly she opened them, she had just managed to get to sleep about an hour before, she let out a sigh and jangled the chains that held her aloft inches from the floor and sighed again.
Her lips were parched and she smacked them thirstily before closing her eyes again to ward off the sun. A once vibrant woman of beauty and humour, Ellen was merely a shell of who she ue to be. From her lover's betrayal to being trapped everything in her life had gone downhill. She let out a painful cough and shook her head, she knew she was dying.

Cyclonus looke up. Not as much at Ellen, as past her. "They're coming," He said aloud, "I can hear it on the winds. Hands are moving against Lord Apocalypse..."
He turned his attention to Ellen, "And you must choose, Ellen. Stand and die with them, or stay humble, and return to that which you one were: Free with a voice."

Ellen spit out the blood that had been loosened by her coughing. She weakly looked up at Cyclonus and for a moment thought that it was the old Cole. He was saying something, but her mind was playing tricks on her as she could almost imagine him teasing her about sleeping in on such a nice day.
She coughed again and everything popped back into focus and the smile on her face disappeared and everything that had happened came back to her memories. Ellen sneered and turned her head away refusing to choose anything that Cyclonus was saying.

"...Or I coul just free you," he said lightly, "Set you loose, before Apocalypse order's your execution. You would be without powers, or a voice, but you'd be free..."

Ellen looked up her expression surprised, but then that look was replaced with anger and suspiscion. How could he expect her to live again knowing what it felt like to feel the wind through her air. Or to go into space and see a star born? But freedom sounded so good, so good that tears flowed down Ellen's cheeks and she let out silent sobs.

"There's little time," Cyclonus told her, running his finger down her cheek caringly, "And even less control."
He reached up, and pulled the chain apart, and free from the wall, "If you go now, I don't care what happens, never return here. If I live, I won't be the same, and you won't be able to defend yourself."
He pulled his hand away, and opened the door, leading to a direct exit, "I know you don't feel the same way, but I want it to be laid out here..."
He turned away from her, "I do still love you, Ellen. I wish things could have ended another way, but my destiny was never to be the hero."

Even more tears coursed down Ellen's cheeks as she managed the courage to look Cole in the face. Gently she traced his face with her fingers shaking her head, wanting to tell him that she had never loved him because he was a hero. Her hand shook from exhaustion and hunger and she wrapped her arms around Cole's waist and brought herself close to him, holding him one last time. Then a brief kiss to his lips and a small Ellen-like smirk, and she turned and left, ignoring the pain in her heart.

Cyclonus stood up and watched her leave. The pain in his heart fell away as he went back to his Horseman's duties. Cleaning up the chains and tossing them to the corner. After a few minutes to assure that Ellen had time to get clear, he began his security rounds of the pyramid, his face cold and starn once more.

"What is, well what does it feel like to love someone, like you love that girl?" Rhapsody asked as sand whirled around producing her human form. She tilted her head to the side and looked at Cyclonus. "I am curious because the way you looked at her reminds me of something and I can't place it."

Cole growled loudly at her, and pulled his cloak collar up and over his mouth and nose, so only his eyes show through, "I don't think that is any of your business," he replied, "What you had is none of my concern."

"Hmm, I know but you were here when I was brought here, and all that is fuzzy," Rhapsody murmured quietly running a hand through her curly blond hair, "And that one horseman looks at me when he thinks I'm not looking. Everything is a mystery to me, Lord Apocolyspe says it's because my mind is settling into my mortal body. I know it's wrong to question, but was I someone else before I came here? Do you know Cyclonus, or know someone I could ask?"

"You're having memories from your past come to the surface," He said impatiently, "I suggest that you both leave me be, and ask 'War' over there." As he passed another passegeway, he pointed to the spikey redhead wearing a black cloak.

Rhapsody tilted her head, "But he's the one that's always staring at me. But perhaps you are right, I will go ask," she said and walked over to War, her light blue robes whirling around in the desert wind, "War have you ever been in love, and what does it feel like. Did you do the same things that Cyclonus did with his love?" she asked looking up at him with pure blue innocent eyes, "And why do you stare at me so?" she added with good measure suddenly feeling very skiddish around this man and pulled the v-neck to her robe a little higher to hide her chest.

"You do ask a lot of questions," War asked. He closed his eyes for a moment, the black tattoos that resembles teardrops under his eyes that were once red crescents glinted a bit in his vision.
"I don't remember. And before this, I'm sure whatever I had was nothing more than a fools dream. That's all anyone outside this pyramid lives for..."

Rhapsody tilted her head to the side and smiled at War and held a finger tohis lips and laughed a little, "You're silly," she told him and looked into his eyes and frowned before leaning forward and kissing War gently, she drew away and frowned even more, "I apologize I felt like I had to do that when you said that," she said looking at War again.

"Don't fall into the games humans play," War said, the bits of octave in his voice fluctuating as he spoke. Bits of an old voice broke through, but he pushed it away, "You're acting odd, you know that right?"

"Apocolypse always says I act odd, often I act in the music I hear," Rhapsody said quietly tracing circles on War's chest and was silent as she thought to herself, "Am I not mortal like humans, perhaps I'd like to play the games mortals play. You did not reject my kiss, nor push me away, perhaps you like the mortal games as well. Didn't the Greek Gods often delight themselves in such mortal games, what gives them the right to have all the fun?" she asked him her voice filled with air and humor. Her hand reached up and gently touched War's tattoo's before she ran a hand through his hair, 'Our lord told me that he doesn't have time to appeal to things that woman want. And told me if I wished I could take an Adam to keep me company," Rhapsody went quiet again, "I want an Adam, and I know that I had one, but I can't remember him. War can you help me find him, I want to see what love feels like, how Cyclonus feels."

War's training set in as she spoke. He leaned his head away, and looked to the floor, "Cyclonus is an idiot. One of the pack who strays too far from safe haven by wanting to think freely. He obeys Apocalypse because he is afraid of the love he feels, and one day it will be the end of him."

"You didn't answer me," Rhapsody whispered gently taking War's chin in her hand and turning his face so they could look into each other's eyes, "War, we both know that once we were mortal, do you not wonder what that was like. To feel all those feelings?" she asked him her blue eyes gazing into War's, her body pressed against War's as she studied his eyes, 'Am I not pretty enough?" she added with a small frown.

War looked at her, his eyes blank in confusion, "You know Apocalypse doesn't want us to do this. In taking an Adam, he meant one not under his shield. The Horsemen are his to command, and as such, emotions are trivial in every aspect."
